Considering a Colt 1911 45acp Gold Cup Trophy...

One feature I forgot to mention that I absolutely love is the wider trigger. The purchase I can get on the trigger with my finger is SO much better than the standard size.

They really do and were totally worth the extra price. The Colt came with more nice to have extras too so the extra cost hurt much less

After I handled it a whole bunch of 1911's with and without it, the front checkering was a must have for me.

There's not a single piece of plastic on it, that helped my decision. Only thing not metal are the grips.

Just picked up today. My first 45, so some would say it's my first 'real' 1911.

Considering a Colt 1911 45acp Gold Cup Trophy...

Ended up snagging the Colt today. Got a good price and 100rds of 45 for free. I like the wide target trigger more than I thought I would and it's pulling at just under 4lbs. The included magwell was a nice addition and the front and back checkering on the grip was a must have. Thanks all for...

I was considering that one too. The Colt is currently #1 but the Specialist is my #2 for sure.

Considering a Colt 1911 45acp Gold Cup Trophy...

As the title states, that's currently what I'm looking at purchasing. In the price range, I know there are other options and I've been mulling it over extensively, but this is my top choice at the moment. Is this a great choice or is there another option that would be all around better for the...

I just had to chuckle honestly...

So.. we all know the Prodigy has had some growing pains and the issues have largely been very minor and Springfield CS has been amazing. But we also know there were people who kept saying "Buy a Staccato" or "Buy a BUL", etc., because "they're more reliable". Well here's a story for you. I...

    Smith and Wesson EDC

I have a S&W CSX and it's the best carry I've owned thus far. Really pleasant to shoot at the range too.

Trigger replacement options for the Hellcat?

Thanks for the suggestions all! I'll run these by him.

Trigger replacement options for the Hellcat?

So my father has the Hellcat (regular not Pro) and he does not like the trigger. Since you're all well versed in this stuff, I figured I'd ask where he could find a better trigger? He feels there's too much creep and mush in the stock trigger, so he wants something shorter with a cleaner...

    Prodigy Questions -

All good options, but be careful. Some of them are all aluminum frame and much lighter, which results in them being more snappy as a result. The Staccato P is steel, heavier, and smoother to shoot, as is the Prodigy. I tried a Staccato C and C2 and did not like either of them - too snappy for...

Keeping a firearm in a vehicle

You can Google it for proof if you like, but the most common place guns are stolen from is cars. Definitely not a good idea to keep a gun in an unoccupied car.

    Prodigy Questions -

Everything that @SimonRL said, just wanted to add my own experience since I've tried both versions. I have the 5" and my father has the 4.25". I got mine first and it only took him one magazine down range to convince my father he needed one too. We both agree the 4.25" is slightly more...

    Let's see your AR setups...

I dry fired it a few times to test it out and it's -really- crisp and clean. Super nice audible and tactile reset too. I couldn't say no to the low low price of $599 with all those little upgrades already on it.

    Let's see your AR setups...

My first AR. Just picked it up today. Palmetto State Armory 16" Mid-Length 5.56 NATO 1/7 Nitride 13.5" Lightweight M-Lok MOE EPT Rifle. Came with a Magpul stock, Magpul grip, MBUS flip up sights and an enhanced polished trigger. Added a Vortex Strikefire II and a BCM hand stop on a M-lok to...

    slide racker plate

Not to hijack the thread, but part of the reason I picked the S&W CSX up is because it's got what they call 'EZtab' on the back of the slide. It's phenomenally easy to rack. I WISH more companies did this for smaller pistols! You can see the little flare on the back - it provides a TON of grip...

    Lower Prodigy rear sight?

Can confirm my father's 4.25" Prodigy is also calibrated for center of target.
