Holsters and why you choose that 1!

In some cases like the Bond Arms Bullpup/Boberg many of the manufacturers don't even make a holster of any kind for it so one ends up trying to choose from what is available. With other guns, like my XDs or my Hellcat I try to find one that actually fits my criteria which isn't as easy as it...

    Is Ammo Really More Expensive?

9mm in corrosive was often sold by the buckets for very cheap prices as there was a lot of German WWII surplus. There was also a fair amount of war ammo in 9mm being dumped by other countries as well. The ammo in my stash was non corrosive which made it somewhat more expensive.

    Is Ammo Really More Expensive?

Digging into my ammo stash, I "rediscovered" some 9mm ammo bought in 1961. Price tags on the 100 round boxes were $6.00. However, that $6.00 in 1961 would now be $55.78 today. Given the ammo is basically range ammo, I know I can buy 100 rounds for less than .55 cents per round. Interesting.

    Firearm "influencers"

When Shooting Times (then owned by the Peoria Journal Star) held their "writer get togethers" in Peoria they used the same gun range that I also used. Thanks to a friendship with George Nonte I was able to meet and socialize with all of them when they came to town. They each had their claims to...

    Damn good news!

Based on the hourly rates our company was paying a couple of years ago, that would mean you would have to work an extra 50 hours to justify the increase. :D

Will Springfield ever move out of Illinois?

They would not find anyone standing in line to rent property in Geneseo. They would also have the same problem with their family homes when it came to selling them. They are also multi generational folks with lots of family in the area. Moving would be very painful for them.

Comparing The Ruger LCP to the LCP II

I own the LCP, carry it almost daily as backup number two, and shoot it once in a while. If it were ever going to be my primary or even my first backup I would sell it and go with an LCP II. The LCP is accurate enough for its intended purpose of very close range covert backup but not for even...

    Kevlar fabric for your clothes

Not that brand. This stuff is too costly for do it yourself testing. I have seen test results from several manufacturers however and watched it being done at a now out of business manufacturer (Kapps) in Jacksonville, Illinois a number of years ago.

Several manufacturers have been making bullet resistant clothing for years. The kevlar is removable as it would be destroyed by most cleaning practices.

    Long overdue

This is a complex subject. There is no doubt that meat raised under better conditions tastes better and is likely healthier to consume. There is also no doubt that the majority of the world would no longer be able to afford meat as a regular part of their diet if all of these rules became a...
