Great read! Couple of things:
1) If anyone has ever been around the Amish, you know what I'm talking about. Such a kind (and brilliant) people. While I'm not Amish, most of my family lives in or around Amish Country so I'm out there sharing the road with horse/buggies and not shying away from a...
1) I wish I had as much disposable income as you haha
2) That last bit seems crazy right? Back in the day, "pray for peace, prepare for war" doesn't have the same effect now with "Taco Smell", and "Burger Queen" on every base.....lance criminals "dunkin" entire paychecks into pogey bait. Ah...
Picked up 3 things from Cabela's: 5rd box of Fed Premium 12ga 1600fps slugs ($8.99), 10rd box of Hornady Critical Defense 8-pellet 1600fps ($18.99), and a 20rd box of PPU 7.62x54R 150gr ($27.99).
That said, military monday promotion (10%) stacked with 24/7 5%off on ammo for veterans, sales tax...
I've seen a lot of people use the Tulammo 7.62x54R on youtube and other sites. I'm not sure if Tulammo has any relation to the Tula factory where this Mosin was manufactured, or not. I'll probably do a pro-con spreadsheet of different ammo before making my purchase. Thank you.
Pardon my lack of knowledge, and thanks in advance for any advice and knowledge you can provide me.
Yesterday, I purchased one of my favorite bolt-actions (it's 89 years old - 1936 Tula factory Mosin) and it dawned on me that I don't know that much about ammo when it relates to older rifles...
That's the key that I feel most people don't understand when talking about firearms...the unofficial 5th safety rule, "Know your target and what lies beyond it". Back in school, one of the first papers I had to do was on the safety rules, and then I had to go through and breakdown and discuss 10...
I shot at two targets, the first target I didn't grab a picture of, but this was shots 51-100 broken down like this:
7m - two handed - head only - 10 rounds
15m - two handed - body only - 10 rounds
7m - one handed left - body only - 10 rounds
7m - one handed right - body only - 10 rounds
7m -...
100% haha. I was 155mm towed artillery, only "infantry" type stuff we did is security/patrols around our own positions, because at the end of the day, "if you can't truck it, f--k it" lol
Also, much appreciated on the "good write up" part. I was bored and as we all are, my mind first goes to my passion of firearms so I figured better late than never. Wanted to post this Sunday or Monday but got busy with life. Hope it helps someone if they're researching something to buy.
Hello again, y'all. Just wanted to drop a thread to do a couple of things:
1) Give people information about the Sarsilmaz Sar 9 Socom
2) Give insight on 1st shots
Last Wednesday, I added the Sar 9 Socom (full-size) to my collection. Here are the specs and my first thoughts.
From the factory...
I'll definitely try that out. Counterclockwise as if you were holding the gun and shooting correct? Surely they (Tokarev) wouldn't mean clockwise from staring down the barrel, right?
