New S&W Axe AR line includes as many SBRs as carbines

Strange, I actually prefer it. With the interchangeable backstraps, it's easier to get a custom fit.

Famous Guns / Guns with a story?

S&W letters can be really fun to obtain and go back through - that's pretty cool!

Famous Guns / Guns with a story?

    Super, even.

Famous Guns / Guns with a story?

That matches up - this appears to be in a location with desert and roadrunners (dessert). :)

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

That's the changes to the law. The law doesn't proscribe what kind of check or how. That's an administrative rule.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Given the changes coming to the tax stamp portion and the stance of the DOJ and current administration... and given that the current check is basically a NICS check anyway (with the singular added step of fingerprint verification), I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen since it's already...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Unless, of course, the ATF allows instant over the counter sales with NICS.

    AOS Plate question

I don't think you understand how screws/bolts work. A #6 screw is 3.55mm. With 48 tpi, there's quite a bit of thread engagement, which is where under proper torque the friction needed to secure it comes from. The instructions for an AOS plate have up to 25 in-lbs of dry torque. If using...

Famous Guns / Guns with a story?

Some old dude who liked guns, or so I'm told. Apparently he wasn't good enough to shoot with a red dot and didn't have any lasers on his guns, either. Probably never cerakoted them and didn't immediately re-blue it after each use to keep it safe-queen pristine. No clue why not... Apparently...

    AOS Plate question

I'm very confused. If you know you're using the EPS, you know what footprint the EPS is (or can look it up in Holosun's specs), then get the plate for that footpring.

    AOS Plate question

No, it will not. The slides on 1911's are narrower than the optics you're mounting.

    AOS Plate question

And the MAC DS 9. Strangely, AOS doesn't sell the plates... but they apparently license the patent to several different manufacturers.

I had to deal with them twice - once for their 1911 recall, another for a defect in a factory optics cut slide. Both times were painless and they did right by me. No complaints.

What are you doing right now??

I'm delaying feeding the dogs... letting them enjoy some [forced] outside time while it's nice and breezy today.

Famous Guns / Guns with a story?

How many of you have guns tied to famous people, events or places? I'll start. I didn't just get a Briley-made 1911 Fantom F10, I got Wiley Clapp's Fantom F10, in the box Briley sent it to him in. Incredible auction find. And relax - the label address is/was his public business address. Who...

Screwed around and shot well last night...

No "house rules" that differ during competition. Steel Challenge is like golf - you and a better score each time. You can be competitive if you want - care about match placement, etc. - or you can just go shoot, track scores and see if you're improving. I think this video explains it well -...

Robot machines coming to society, are you ready?

That's good - and maybe not gay - maybe poly ("anything with a hole"). It means he had good self-awareness and didn't find a need to advertise or involve others in his most private life. As a paramedic, I'll tell you you'd be surprised who does what, where and how.

Screwed around and shot well last night...

I've recently become more focused/serious around Steel Challenge, working my way up through the ranks. Current target is an "A" classification (75-85% score band) in Limited Optics. Master is 85-95%. I've gone from 62% to 68% to 72% in the course of a month now. Apparently I was in the zone...

Hopefully they get this kid some serious help.

Wow. Based on what they found him with, he's potentially an intelligent kid (this would take some basic chemistry knowledge and skill), but went way, way off the rails. Another one where someone was actually paying attention to his social media posts... well done to whoever actually took this...
