    Range Report: VP9 & Echelon 4.5 Head-To-Head, 3/5/25

Nice shooting and nice comparison. I see a pattern in your shooting and I think both guns shot very comparably. I'm also glad to see the Echelon held its own against the VP9. I hadn't seen anyone run that comparison yet. It seems like everyone always wants to compare anything and everything to...

Are You Truly Prepared for EDC?

Same here, I carry all day, every day. And I practice regularly. I don't think anyone is ever truly prepared for a edc confrontation, but I refuse to be a victim.

Range Report: Echelon Holster Practice, FTS Drills, 2/25/25

Great post and nice shooting!! I have a very similar range near my home but it doesn't allow draw from holster. My answer to that is to just pick up from the table.

    Echelon in OD green

I think that Springfield will eventually make a Comped ODG Echelon.

    Red Dot Gap on Echelon

I'm not aware of this issue, must be only the CT optic. I use Holosun Greendots (507C & 507K) and they are a direct mount. Most of the approved list of optics found in the Echelon manual are direct mount without a plate.

    Springfield-Armory Echelon to California ?

The Echelon is a great handgun and I bet it's being evaluated for CA considering it's touted as a duty gun.

Bear Attacks Man, Saved By Neighbor with a 45 ACP Pistol

    I carry a 9mm, but I don't live in bear country. I'd carry a bigger caliber if I did.

Gun Belts for EDC and CCW

I was a Hanks guy, now I'm a Kore guy. The Kore belt is more supportive and is way more adjustable than a regular leather belt. I carry all day, every day and I use the exact same style of holsters as you do.

    Your Taurus Revolver EDC

Is there any particular reason you want to stay with a revolver? It sounds like with your condition that maybe you should start considering a striker fired gun? There are lots of reliable options out there especially in .380 that are easy recoil and offer better capacity than a revolver.

    Springfield selling Echelon Parts

There are a few companies that are making new frames for the Echelon and I think new slides aren't very far away.

    My 9mm Carry Decision

The Echelon 4.0 is my new carry, it is an excellent ccw.

    Small gun shop survival.

I always shop local unless it's something that I just can't get without ordering it. I prefer to be able to get my hands on what I want to buy and make sure I like it before I put down hard earned cash. I can usually find my ammo pretty cheap locally too. My only issue now is that the economy...

    New Echelon Barrel and slide.

The Echelon is advertised as a modular handgun, they already offer a bunch of different parts in their store, so I think we will see more parts like more frames, slides and barrels being offered in the future. Much like the P320 and P365.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Picked up the Echelon 4.0 the other day. I ran 110 rounds thru it yesterday and it ran flawlessly. This is Echelon #4 for me.

    New CZ

I was interested in the Nocturne but I've seen mixed reviews on it. Some run fine and some can't get thru a mag without misfeeding. I think I'll wait until they've been out a while before picking one up.

    RXM: Ruger/Magpul Collaboration Pistol

Is that a Gluger, or a Glocker? That's what we need is another Glock clone.

    Echelon COG compatibility

No problem, I was wondering the same thing and I've been watching lots of reviews on the new compact. I plan on getting a compact once my budget comes back around.

    Echelon COG compatibility

There are guntubers that have already tried the mag compatibility, and they work just fine. But just like the PDP, you have to watch out not to slam the longer mags home or they will not feed properly. You should use a mag extension if you're going to use the longer mags. And yes, the COG will...

Recoil breaks embargo on New Compact Echelon 4.0

I'll be picking one up. And mag over-insertion is not only an Echelon issue, but PDP's, Caniks and some other poly guns also have issues when inserting a longer mag with no base pad to stop it. Not that big of a deal, just don't slam the mag home.
