NRA Pulled a Legal but Sneaky Email Trick and I Stupidly Got Nailed

Though I was a member for 20+ years, I got out as the WLP disaster unfolded. Haven’t looked back or regretting for a moment. There are better pro-gun organizations out there that focus on the fight and not enriching their leadership.

    Dang, it got COLD

Lots of Yankees don’t have “libtard ways,” despite the rumors. We’ve had a tremendous influx the last 10 years of folks retiring here - primarily due to cost of living, less so the weather. Admittedly our local politics do rile some, but new ideas and change can be a good thing. YMMV

National Rifle Association has teamed up with local allies

All these pro-MAGA folks who support Trump forget about the bump stock ban. He did it once, he can darn sure do it again. smh

Excellent point. Maybe we have four seasons after all… There’s also that time when all the Yankees start coming to our beaches 🤣

High Desert Cartridge Company’s Revolver Ammunition

Thanks for the link. Always good to be aware of options in the boutique ammunition space. The fact that the author shot a some of his rounds out of a S&W Mountain gun and the results he obtained say a lot for High Desert.

National Rifle Association has teamed up with local allies

Yes, WLP was the reason I stopped being a member years ago. Way too many other really good organizations that are truly in the debate to fight, protect our rights, and win.

Ayoob: Is .45 Still Better Than 9mm?

I don’t recall exactly when, but our local sheriff transitioned back to 9mm from the 40 early 2012-2015 or so, now all carry Glock 9mms. All the municipal PDs followed suit. Why, exactly, I don’t know that anyone has a definitive answer. But if the world goes ****-up, you best have a few 9mms...

    SHTF Scenario Definition

My first real taste of what it’s like, post natural disaster was hearing the stories of Andrew in ‘92. And there had been brushes of storms in the years after. Then I lived through Ivan in 2004. Living on the Gulf Coast you prepare a little each year, but Ivan hit home. We were without power...

    Why This Forum?

An oasis for sure. Too much vitriol and political nonsense on so many other sites nowadays.

    SHTF Scenario Definition

One of my college roommates was from South Florida and went home to prepare for Andrew in ‘92. He told stories about turning off the generator at night (and taking shifts with shotguns) so the looters wouldn’t come to the sound and looking for the lights. Not so much a problem with Ivan, but...

    SHTF Scenario Definition

I would add Bic lighters to that list of cheap items to use for bartering. For a period of time, each time I stopped in a convenience store I’d pay the cheap price ($1?) and throw them in a drawer at home.

    Is .40 S&W really dying?

I would benefit far more from having and using the 41 than I ever would another .40. That’s far darn sure!

    Is .40 S&W really dying?

I passed on a 4 5/8” .41 Blackhawk recently. I wanted it, but did not have the cash on hand to haggle over the price ($1150!)

In a World of Compacts, Is it Bad my EDC is a Full Size?

If I'm not wearing a suit to court, I'm in flip-flops and shorts. Rarely wear jeans anymore. I used to carry a full size 1911, then a Commander, then a G22, now almost exclusively a Colt Agent 6-shot 38S. My lifestyle doesn't dictate anything larger, or for that matter heavier. I avoid...

    Tips for Long-Term Gun Storage

True story … I had a client once that claimed his father, a Korean War vet, buried PVC containers upright throughout his property so that the tops were at 6’ of depth. He would use cosmoline and nitrogen to purge any gasses from the tubes. Poor guy never could find any of his father’s tubes...
