Have a CZ-40b bought years ago. Keep telling myself I should sell it, but haven’t yet. 1911 backstrap combined with a double stack mag fits my hand very well.

    Officers Down in America

I put as much blame on the top brass who are willing to sacrifice an officer/deputy to keep their job. Not sure how many “gotcha” divisions LAPD has now, but they will put your life under a microscope to prove you were wrong and to increase their body count of good cops. With that thought in...

Suspect in custody after stabbing of 11 people at Michigan Walmart

I read somewhere that the armed citizen had to jack a round into the chamber after drawing. Think it was this case, there are getting to be too many. Hard to keep details straight.

I bought a 1938 version of “History of the USMC” a while back. Wanted more information on the pre-WW2 Corps. Inside was the previous owner’s name. Donald Watkins , Tientsin China 1940. I assume he rotated stateside before Pearl Harbor.

Lessons Learned: Facing Down a Carjacking

I tend to shoulder holsters. Most are off to the side enough that the seatbelt doesn’t interfere with use. However, I always am careful in unhooking my sear belt to be sure. I tend to wear untucked shirts anyway, and will loosen a couple of buttons when in a vehicle. Sportcost, no problem...

Don't often look for opinions, but today I will.

When I started in L.E. I was handed a Model 15 which had been castrated to DAO. All my privately owned wheelguns which was going to be carried on or off duty were likewise altered. I became very proficient in shooting them. So much so, that almost any striker fired pistol seems abnormally...

Top Practical Everyday Carry Items You Need

You know…with my body build/shape, if I carried all that gear, my trousers would fall down. Only solution would be to go to braces/suspenders. My younger brother has, but, while I may be 80, I ain’t gonna wear them!
