Is Corrosive Ammo Bad (or Actually Okay)?

I have read that the corrosive primers last longer than non-cor... is this the case? Any comments? I've personally fired some late ww2 nazi (Czech-made- steel case, steel jacket) corrosive stuff that was dyn-0-mite well into the 2010's.. anyone else?

Is Corrosive Ammo Bad (or Actually Okay)?

Having fired a lot of mil-surp corrosive, (I collect and shoot mil-surp firearms, and stacked surplus ammo high and deep when it was widely available and cheap) I recommend the hot soapy water... run the patched rod up and down the barrel (breech-end) while the front of the barrel is submerged...

    Pantherturm: Hitler’s Deadly Investment

It certainly is arguable that the Panther was the finest tank of the war after Kursk when the bugs were identified and worked out in subsequent production. Hitler insisted that it be rushed into production the counter the T34 and was disastrously fielded too early at Kursk before the serious...

    I Love REVOLVERS

J-Frames are only ONE of my revolver/pistol types. They are small and still a relatively powerful caliber (.38sp). I pocket-carry a J-Frame as a rule, (when I go out). I don't carry at home- no need cuz a firearm is never far away around here- less than a foot from my hand as I type. My favorite...

Japanese Nambu LMGs of World War II

That's a real nice unit- very clean.. even with the conversion it's a real piece of history.

Japanese Nambu LMGs of World War II

Those Jap rifles, assuming they're in "cared for" condition, are actually excellent rifles.. used to see a few vet bring-backs in the deer woods in the '60's and early '70's. Generally accurate and hard-hitting even in the 6.5, one of the strongest actions out there. Wish now that I'da picked up...

Japanese Nambu LMGs of World War II

I know where to get one of those, in working order. Brought home by a vet of the Pacific War. It's not an M60 (I date myself!) but it would dump a few rounds in a pinch, eh...

Two Best Survival Books I've Read

The old B.S. Handbook was chock full of woodcraft info I havent seen anywhere else- mine disappeared for parts unknown at some point in my life... Tappan was useful in picking a good rifle and stocking up on foods and other supplies we don't usually think about in our day to day lives- like...

Two Best Survival Books I've Read

The Boy Scout "Handbook For Boys"- early edition, probably later 1940's... I about wore my old copy out growing up. Later the Mel Tappan "Tappan On Survival", along with other of his writings... Tappan had a great effect on my prepping ideas and activities. Another book, a novel, was "Farnham's...

    KNIVES- What would you carry?

    Useful choices in that environment!

    Which gun would you have

Excellent advice^^^^^ Even a .22 rifle with that brick of 500 .22LR cartridges could make a difference. Even a functioning .22 pistol. Some suggest a .22Magnum, but at the cost of the rifle and ammo you would be close to what a 5.56 AR would cost... Anyway even a .22LR could make all the difference.

    Hi-Point JXP 10mm

I've pondered the 10mm- Glock, HiPoint, or XDm... cash outlay for ammo has put that off indefinitely, besides I'm into .40S&W pretty deep.

An Old School Solution to a Very Modern Threat: Shotguns vs Drones

Isnt it illegal to shoot at drones, even private ones? Something about FAA rules IIRC?

    KNIVES- What would you carry?

A bad *** blade, no doubt. Worthy of work in Afrika!

    KNIVES- What would you carry?

A fun (hopefully) thought-provoking thread- Left in a survival situation of your choice- arctic, swamp, jungle, bush, mtns- and allowed two edged weapons- what would your personal choice be? My own is rather simple- a Nepalese Khukri, 12", and a smaller blade like my Master Hunter or possibly...

Alone style …. but with the handgun of your choice?

I've given this some thought the last few days (too much time on my hands). Considering it's only 1 pistol.. I would carry either an N-frame .357 4" or Redhawk 5.5" stainless .44mag. I own these and it would be a difficult choice leaving the various Glocks behind, but I wouldnt want to mess with...

Hiring non citizens to be LEOs

Long story short, HELL NO! Don't come to my country as a non-citizen and try to tell me what to do. That's just wrong.

    .40S&W shot-shells

I carry a .40 Glock 23 these days. I'm looking for snake🐍shot cartridges for my outdoor adventures.. CCI makes 'em, does anyone else? I'm particularly interested in something that will CYCLE the .40 S&W pistol. Is this possible? Suggestions would be appreciated. I do have .357 and .44mag...
