Homeowner shoots intruder, and he responds, 'You're gonna have to kill me.' So homeowner shoots him again, police say.

Here’s an update. The intruder was wanted in Ohio for the stabbing murder of a 77 year old man. The police arrived at about the same time as the homeowner took the 2nd shot and they still had to wrestle with the guy to bring him in...

    FBI misleads Americans

No big surprise about the FBI, but the actual numbers are very encouraging. https://dailycaller.com/2023/08/31/fbi-armed-citizens-active-shooters-gun-violence-john-lott/

    New HVAC Installed

I feel your pain brother. Just had a new unit installed in our house a few weeks ago. Sure doesn’t do the wallet a lot of good…

Trigger replacement options for the Hellcat?

I second this. I got the MCarbo as well and am pleased. It’s adjustable and takes away pretty much all the creep. I just got the trigger, but you can get the whole mechanism including springs and striker if you want. I wasn’t TOO displeased with my Hellcat trigger other than the trigger safety...

To dot, or not to dot, that is the question.

I need reading glasses, so plain iron sights are tough for me to get a focus on. If I do, I’m focusing on the sights and not the target. I like the RDS I have on my Hellcat. I do carry a SA 911 in 380 at times with no RDS. I can work with it, but for me, I like the RDS better. It just takes a...

Concealed Carry Corner: What To Do Around Police

It's a requirement in Texas to present your CHL to an officer? Whether or not you are carrying? That seems pretty extreme.

Concealed Carry Corner: What To Do Around Police

I live in Georgia and there is no duty to inform. I have a lead foot and have been pulled over more than a couple times since having a carry permit. I have never informed and never been asked if I have a weapon. The only time I’d say something is if I was asked or if I had to retrieve something...

Circuit Court temporarily blocks regulations on pistol braces.

I don't watch a lot of Fox news anymore. Maybe The Five for a few minutes if I'm home, Bret Baier is fairly balanced and Gutfeld for the humor. There are many ways, some bigger than others, that they propagate naratives that just aren't accurate. Anything said on the news really needs to be...

    Saint Victor Threaded Barrel

I don't know for 100% sure, but most pistol caliber barrels are threaded for 1/2x28. I would imagine the SV 9mm would be that.

Why People Hate the 1911 (and Why They’re Wrong)

I like that!! They look a little different now, but I seriously may be getting one. Thanks!!

Why People Hate the 1911 (and Why They’re Wrong)

Sheesh. A little testy? I know it’s hard to get in. Thought I’d offer a little advice. May be good advice for someone else.

Why People Hate the 1911 (and Why They’re Wrong)

If you rack the slide back with the slide stop catching, you can access that hole pretty easily. The bend in the paper clip has to be the right length to fit in between the rod and the frame. You can insert it into hole, then release the slide. That will capture the recoil spring. Then what I’ve...

Why People Hate the 1911 (and Why They’re Wrong)

Yep. In fact, the 1911s I’ve had came with a little pre-bent “tool” to capture the recoil spring. But there have been times I couldn’t find it, so I used the paper clip trick. Still more of a PITA than flicking a lever on the side of the slide and popping the slide right off. If you hold the gun...

Why People Hate the 1911 (and Why They’re Wrong)

Unlike many here, I only have one 1911. I love to carry it and shoot it. I have one complaint about the 1911. It’s a PITA to take down to clean. I just don’t like having to compress the recoil spring, put that compression tool in the little hole and keep it from falling out, line up the slide...

    Federal Suppressor Ban Introduced

I don’t have one in process right now. 9 months or 11 months is ridiculous one way or the other. It’s disheartening for sure.

    Federal Suppressor Ban Introduced

On average that’s about right. You can go from around $300 for a rimfire suppressor to well over $1000 for a large caliber one. The problem for me isn’t really the cost or the $200, it’s the wait time. I just can’t stand waiting 9+ months for something I’ve bought and paid for. It’s ridiculous.

    The Story Behind Silencer Central

I’m about to order a 3rd suppressor. Not looking forward to at least a 9 month wait. Ugh. And I’m about 30 days in on the braced pistol SBR stamp. No telling how long that will take.

    Federal Suppressor Ban Introduced

Seriously doubt this will happen. I’m about to buy another one, so I hope not anyway 😁. I’m sure this is in response to the Republicans bringing back up the Hearing Protection Act to get suppressors off the NFA list. These idiots in Congress can’t be serious. I swear they’re all morons.

    Illinois

If both reports are accurate, two rulings from two different judges, it pretty much ensures this will move up the line, possibly reaching the SCOTUS.
