    Wilson Combat Mag Question

Wilson makes the absolute best 1911 mags in .45 acp. 9mm and 38 Super, not so much. I use Metalform mags in my 38 Supers. They work perfectly. ;)

    10-8 Armorer Block

Its good if you want to do things like replace barrel links or polish hammer or sear surfaces, but otherwise most all the pins in a 1911 come out pretty easily. The average owner doesn't need it. To easily remove the slide stop: hold the gun in your right hand, press your trigger finger firmly...

Springfield TRP won't close slide with 8 rounds

The gun has some age on it. First thing to do and the cheapest is replace the recoil spring. Standard weight for 5" .45 1911 is 16lbs. I usually run 17-18 lb springs That'll also give you a bit more closing power. They work just fine and you don't have to chase brass as far. ;) BTW: I highly...

    Are we alone?

I believe that Earth is kinda like the Detroit of the galaxy. Everybody knows where we are, but nobody wants to come here.

    Are we alone?

Police say they seized 23 guns from the home of a 13-year-old who appeared to idolize mass shooters

If the kid is really messed up, its good they caught him in time. As for the parents, I've seen it many times. Kids a total disaster waiting to happen, but to momma he's a sweet little angel who wouldn't hurt a fly. Complete denial. 🤬

this is crazy stupid...a garden hose wetting arrest..???

According to the article, Cruz asked her to move and she didn't. Around here, that would automatically get you sprayed. That's like saying I dare ya!

DOJ considering Gun Control for Gender Dysphoria

I'm absolutely against it. I oppose gun control in any form. And this has the potential to morph into things we don't even want to think about.

Colt Continues to Set the Standard for 1911s with the Competition Series

Colt went through some troubling times. I have a Series 70 Gold Cup that's everything its supposed to be. Absolutely wonderful pistol and far more accurate than I am. (y) I also have a Series 80 Gold Cup made in 1996. Near as I can tell, its just the standard Government Model with adjustable...

The General Purpose Rifle: a New Term for an Old Concept

My first thought was the M1A Scout Squad. Just barely makes the weight at 8lbs 8 oz., but might go a tad over with a full mag. I'm also not sure its legal everywhere. Some states are just nuts. #2 would be a Winchester 94 Trapper in either .44 Mag or .45 Colt. But I don't think I...

The immigration is worse than you think

I remember it well, Late 1970s. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 121 went into effect. The requirement for anti-lock brakes on heavy trucks with air brakes. The early systems absolutely sucked! Caused more accidents than they prevented. They were constantly breaking down and never...

    ding dong ditch claims life

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned four legged security. Mine is on duty 24/7, about 45 lbs, barks at any strange noise and is tougher than she looks. ;)

    ding dong ditch claims life

My house has a carport. I normally enter and exit through the carport door on the side of the house. Everybody who knows me, knows this and they all do the same. So when somebody knocks on the front door, I immediately know its a stranger. That makes me suspicious right from the start. From the...

The immigration is worse than you think

I spent a sizable part of my career working in the trucking industry. Most people have no idea of how serious or dangerous it is. An old trucker told me once: "If you make a mistake at work, you might get fired. If I make a mistake, people die!" They need to burn this guy as bad as possible...

    Reloading data discrepancies

Depends entirely on who wrote the data. Bullet companies write data for their bullets. Powder companies write data for their powder. They may use different methods. That's why they always say start at the bottom and slowly work you way up while watching for pressure signs.

    ding dong ditch claims life

Its sad and stupid. The homeowner will probably be charged. But, If someone rings or knocks on my door after about 9:00pm, you better believe that when I answer that there will be a gun in my hand. These days you just never know.

    .45 ACP history

I'm a long time fan of the .45acp and the 1911 pistol. For most of my adult life I've trusted them to protect me. I have no doubt that they'll get the job done. (y) The only non-1911 .45 I own is a Sig P220. In fact, I shot it just last week. Great pistol! 😁

    Bring Back Mental Institutions

The correct way to dispose of an American flag is to first cut it up. Separate the blue star field from the stripes and then separate the stripes from each other. If you desire. you can further cut the stripes into smaller pieces. Gently and with dignity, feed the pieces into the fire. My old...
