9 Best Concealed Carry Revolvers For Personal Defense (2021)

For those who belt carry, try the three inch over the two in Chief's Special. The sights are MUCH better, thicker and easier to see and the ejector rod is longer. Critical when reloading. You will notice the three inch is harder to pocket carry, but if you are a belt carry guy you are missing...

9 Best Concealed Carry Revolvers For Personal Defense (2021)

The S&W Bodyguard is a great choice for pocket carry, and sometimes in the heat/humidity of Missouri that is all I can manage. So it or a old Colt Cobra gets the nod. The sights are much thicker on the Colt, at least before they went to the shrouded barrel, and my old eyes appreciate that. But...

    Buying a new car/truck?

I wish Jeep still made the Comanche with the fuel injected straight six Jeep engine. Man, what a great powerplant.

Ayoob: Not a Fudd Holster After All

With two guns it balances even better than with a speed loader pouch on the offside. And if my passenger is not a daily carry person, they at least know how to work a revolver so it is a force multiplier. A pair of three inch Model 65 Smith and Wesson .357 Magnums vanish under a blazer or...

    Buying a new car/truck?

I had a Mazda extended cab years ago and it was a great little truck. If I could only buy something that simple again with a six cylinder I would buy that in a heartbeat. I don't need a full size truck, but I really don't want the complexity of a turbo engine. I know they have come a long way...

    Inflation Hedge?

The only precious metals I have invested in are copper, lead and brass. I figure ammunition always has intrinsic value, or I can just shoot it for the fun of it.

Ayoob: Not a Fudd Holster After All

I have logged a lot of miles with shoulder rigs when driving. Inside the waistband is very hard to get to in a car, and not the most comfortable. In my younger, thinner days I could carry a Chiefs Special in a shoulder rig covered by a flannel shirt in the fall. I suspect it would print now that...

Classic car enthusiasts step right in

My 92 Ford F150 had dual tanks. Where is that option these days? I could take on fuel and would not have to weight down the rear of the truck in the winter. Fuel injected 302 V8 pre-coyote. I got 22 miles per gallon on the highway...great truck. Should have kept that one.

    Buying a new car/truck?

I have not owned a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth for a number of years, but was a HUGE fan of their engines. I suppose I should take a look at the Rams and the GMC's and the Chevy trucks as well. I just kinda defaulted to Ford and Chevy just had that massive V8 recall...more research is required!

    OK, Buick Fans

Here are a few pictures of my friends '96 Buick. T-Tops, LS-6 conversion with over 600 documented turbo horsepower, six speed manual transmission. Basically everything the GNX wanted to be when it grew up.

Backing the Badge: Brownells Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle Program

Brownells is always on the right side of every issue in my opinion, and they donate a lot to good causes.

    New boots

Boots in the trunk are a great idea. Even if it is just a flat tire, if you are wearing your Sunday shoes a pair of boots to fight the slush is just the ticket.

    Buying a new car/truck?

I love the Ford 289. Free revving and lightweight...one of the all time great powerplants!

Classic car enthusiasts step right in

I was going to get a GTO hood for this 68 LeMans and turn it into a GTO clone, because even in the late 80's GTO's were getting too expensive to beat on. And so the thread drift really begins.....

A Reappraisal of the Revolver Tactical Reload

Double shoulder rigs are comfortable. Very balanced. With seatbelts fouling my usual inside the waistband rig, my driving rig back in the day was for a pair of Smith and Wesson 65 .357 Magnums. Since I travel by car now that I am retired, this still gets dusted off sometimes and pressed into...

A Reappraisal of the Revolver Tactical Reload

For those that pocket carry a J Frame, does anyone carry one in each front pocket? The famous "New York Reload" since NYPD officers figured out it was faster to draw a second gun than reload the first.

    Buying a new car/truck?

I dearly love the old stuff for toy cars, but I have to admit a modern car with fuel injection, cold a/c, disk brakes all around, rack and pinion steering, competent suspension and a stereo system that shades the Hi Fi I had in my home 20 years ago the siren song of newer cars is one that has...

    270 vs 30-06

Another 30-06 vote. And remember what my father taught me...the real hunter brags about how close his shot was, not how far. Shooting beyond 300 yards is difficult and takes a LOT of range time. Guys at the gun shop are always bragging about shooting a deer at 500 yards and beyond. I actually...
