My son has the XDS Mod 2 and I have the regular XDS and our mags are not interchangeable due to the sleeve differences. If you remove the sleeves, I think they might work, but then you have that nasty gap at the bottom of the mag.
I used to own a full-sized XD 45 that came with a shortened grip. So full, 5"+ barrel and a short grip that held, I don't know, 8 rounds? It was glorious. I'd trade my right arm for one again.
My nightmares consist of me pulling out a Beretta 9000s and having it go "click" just as the bad guy is getting close enough to hurt me. After a quick tap-rack, I hit the bang-switch again and the round comes out of the barrel at 12 mph, thuds against the guy's chest, and falls to the ground...
But that is my point. The dude who did that article picked one of the ammo which not only penetrated the first gel block AND the sheetrock, but it also penetrated 10" into the second gel block. He even states, "This gel block is a member of your family." So why would I want a bullet that would...
My point exactly. I'd opt for the Hornady Critical Defense ammo so that I don't slice through a family member on the other side of that wall.
Super confused by his conclusion.
Have to agree here. When I started carrying 20 years ago, it was easy. I weighed 20+ pounds less than I do now. My first carry piece? A full-sized XD 45. CONCEALED. As you increase your weight, the discomfort level of having something on/in/around your waistband increases the pressure and hurts...
While I would love to carry like this in the summer, I find that I require deeper concealment, most of the time, which would not allow for a shoulder holster. However, this looks like a great rig and thank for the review!
Can't stress the medical supplies enough.
I placed a scope on my Marlin 1895, which I was using for an elk hunt that year (2014). Using my own handloads, I was at the range with some friends, when one of my buddies asked to shoot the 45-70 Gov't 300 grain Nosler Partitions I had loaded. I...
I've always make it a point to carry at least one FMJ in every magazine, simply because I carry in the wilderness quite often. But it also makes me feel good that if I ever find myself in a situation where I am expending rounds on a target and the rounds are not having the desired effect...
Couldn't agree more. While the crime is an outrage, I would never place a human life over that of an animal. Sorry. Not similar at all. Don't get me wrong, the guy is a slime ball who deserves a serious punishment, no doubt. But I will always place human life over an animal any day.
It sure caught my eye at the gun store a couple months ago. Beautiful, compact rifle. However, after watching a lot of reviews from the gun dudes on the interwebs, I was swayed away from it.
I just couldn't get all-coppers to group out of any of my big game rifles. Even changing the powder loads and using different primers didn't help. Just crappy, crappy groups.
However, I now use all-copper Barnes ammo in my XDS 9mm. Shoot very nicely.
