the moron's last days in office continue to fail amercan citizens

I appreciate and agree with sentiment expressed in this column! Before you think all is lost, just remember that criminals who hurt or kill children tend not to do well in general population. All it takes is for a sympathetic guard to leave a door open, "forget" to check-in on someone and...

New M1A leaking oil around gas plug

Good post! A few years ago, someone was trying to sell me on F-Lube. I just didn't like the sound of it. Reading your post, I'm glad I didn't use it!

New M1A leaking oil around gas plug

Loose plug! When I went to open plug for inspection, I found it was finger-tight! Don't know how the H*ll this happened. Obviously, I didn't tighten it enough on reassembly and it came loose during initial firing of 300 rounds. What's the rule for tightening?

New M1A leaking oil around gas plug

Hello M1A Community, I took out my brand-new M1A for the first time, putting 200 rounds through it. Everything worked as expected, including nice groups. Back home, I inspected rifle and noted oil seepage, see attached, around the gas plug. My sense is that it's nothing to worry about, unless...

1988 Indiana State trooper Revolver reload training film

Sort of related: I've seen training videos dealing with injured strong hand while using semiautomic. In video. the GI racked the slide using the back of his heel, in the kneeling position. That's great when you're 18 y.o.! I'm a senior and could do it with some practice and Advil! G.

    Is the .380 Auto Obsolete?

That must've been a real wrist-breaker! I never shoot anything heavier than .357 through a Ruger GP 100 w/ 4" barrel. That was bearable, given the gun's heft. Never with a lightweight snub-nose. As I am retirement age and starting to really feel recoil, I will revisit .380.

    Is the .380 Auto Obsolete?

A cure for arthritis: :p Check this out! It's 11.8 ozs. and fires a .357 magnum. This would eliminate any stiffness in your forearm! Kidding, of course! G

    Is the .380 Auto Obsolete?

I'm a Sig fanboy too! My only non-Sig pistol is a Ruger GP100. As noted in my response to HansGruber: In my worst-case scenario, I do not envision a protracted gun-battle. I've read that self-defense scenarios are usually over in roughly 6 or so shots. In this case, I wouldn't worry about...

    Is the .380 Auto Obsolete?

Good advice, Mr. Gruber! In my worst-case scenario, I do not envision a protracted gun-battle. I've read that self-defense scenarios are usually over in roughly 6 or so shots. In this case, I wouldn't worry about fatigue. To your point, I am not a youngster anymore and now find it painful to...

    Springfield Armory’s M1A Squad Scout

Hey Shooters! Moderator: Please feel free to assign this to another group. I have a new, unfired scout squad that I've carefully cleaned. One thing: I cannot remove the gas plug!! This is to say I've put as much pressure on it as I am comfortable. Do I run the risk of breaking something if I...
