    Reality Check: Red Dot Sights

I’m right there with you (though only a young whippersnapper of 67). At reasonable self defense distances I would ever face, I don’t doubt I could hit a silhouette sized target pretty much center mass waist to neck with iron sights, or even point shooting, but not with anywhere near the...

Range Report: Another 45 Day + NGD, 11/22/25

Looks great and seems you had a really great time! Nothing like making big holes with a big caliber! You have inspired me to get my AOS Emissary to the range soon! I may or may not have an optic on it by then 😂.

    Ugly Sweater Thread

Since folks were complaining about Christmas decorations earlier this week, it MUST be time for ugly sweaters! Get ‘em while they’re hot! https://store.glock.us/glock-holiday-pullover

    Reality Check: Red Dot Sights

They sure do like to generalize and use “holier than thou” language, don’t they? Think I’ll pass on following their “teachings”. Everyone’s experience(s) are different…and I’ll continue to use an optic on my carry gun, so I guess I’m one those “every Joe citizen” alluded to in one of the...

    Reality Check: Red Dot Sights

No arguments here, as I lived the fail. To their credit, they replaced it with brand new matching model…which still sits in the box, unused. Only other Swampfox I tried were on a P365 and a P365XL long ago and they worked fine the entire time I possessed those guns. During my Glock phase...

    Reality Check: Red Dot Sights

For me, it’s four guns with optics, five guns with irons only (full disclosure, two of those are small revolvers). Lifelong astigmatism, eyes getting older (but a little better since getting rid of the cataracts in both eyes), have pretty much always made focus on front sight while trying to...

My WEDNESDAY Night Jam - Row 8, seat 43

From the promo material for this tour (Fall 2025)… “Joe Bonamassa is one of today's top live performers. His enthusiastic shows are one of the biggest parts of his career, and a favorite for music lovers worldwide. Hailed internationally as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation...

My WEDNESDAY Night Jam - Row 8, seat 43

Spent my Wednesday night (19. Nov 25) with Mr. Joe Bonamassa, a blues guitarist I’ve been listening to for a long while. Had a great time with my youngest (37 YOA) daughter. I was surprised to learn his current keyboardist played with Stevie Ray Vaughn (last concert I went to with my oldest...

    Joined the NRA

Like others here, I get requests for money pretty regularly from both NRA and Gun Owners of America (GOA). Always a crisis. I ignore them. GOA is pretty straightforward and just asks for money. NRA constantly tries to entice me with (likely) foreign made junk (knives, bags, binoculars...

Families at Air Force base in Florida told to take down Christmas decorations.

And now for that favorite Christmas classic…just to lighten the mood a bit… (personally, I’m waiting for the updated ICE version since Ms. Noem likes to make videos 😃) Stay safe out there!

Walther Suspends Production of the PPK, PPK/S, and PP Legacy Products

And that slide bite is no joke, and probably wasn’t back then either…but then again, it takes range time to induce slide bite (at least for me). A dozen or so rounds, not a big issue. 200 or so…ouchie 😂!

Indiana man accused of killing house cleaner charged

I can recall one time, and one time only, I was awakened by furious pounding on my door around 2 am. It was an on duty cop wanting to know if I knew if my neighbor parked his truck somewhere in the neighborhood besides his driveway. (He was investigating a DWI hit and run - pretty sure my...

Indiana man accused of killing house cleaner charged

Some of those comments after the article are disturbing. “I'll ask for whoever it is to identify themselves. If they don't respond immediately I consider my life to be in danger.” Good luck if that’s an LEO on the other side of door who was preoccupied and didn’t “respond immediately”. What...

Staccato “C” 2024 Range Report (and NEW TOWEL DAY) - 18 Nov 25

So a while back I was deciding between updating my EDC X9 or buying a new gun. At the time, I went with sending the EDC X9 to Wilson for a tune up/optics kit. Waiting got the best of me and ended up also grabbing a Staccato “C” 2024 from Modern Warriors. Took it to the range a couple of times...

"Is it (the Staccato) worth the money?"

Wait…someone replied to an almost year old post to correct grammar? And I thought I took grammar too seriously! On a side note, just today I took a new Staccato “C” 2024 to the range. Based on the results (soon to be posted in the “guns” sub-forum), they certainly seem worth the money (to me).
