    Buying a new car/truck?

Don't know much about diesels outside of a couple of Mercedes diesels, one turbo one without, back in the 80's-90's. They were long milage machines, both in terms of range and longevity. However, for a long term plan that may be the really smart play. Diesel haulers will be around longer than...

    Buying a new car/truck?

I should have said "I am looking for an automatic". Not right now...but my bad knee is making itself known now and I am thinking in the future I may have to have an automatic. That Hemi is a honorable successor to the 426 made justifiably famous in the 60's-70's. It is a monster!

    Buying a new car/truck?

Biden's gas mileage requirements took a lot of capable V6 sedans off the market. My wife had a Prius when I met her, and it was a great car but the big battery has an "end date" and when we hit it a replacement battery was $4000 plus. I am retired, so gas mileage is not really a concern because...

Classic car enthusiasts step right in

Modern V8 rear wheel drive land yachts have a surprising amount of appeal. The engines are smaller than the 60's for sure, but the modern chassis can put all the power to the ground. And the ride on the highway is smooth and quiet. I still daily drive my wife's cast off Honda Civic Si, but 201...

    Strange Change

In the Leave It To Beaver world in my head that was the first thing I thought of. But in the real world, it was probably some crackhead that stole a coin collection.

    Strange Change

If you got those as change, it means some kid found his dads coin collection and spent it on candy at the convenience store and the brain dead clerk missed it!

    Wilson Combat Mag Question

9 mm 1911's are notoriously picky. Wilson has done a lot of work to get the mags reliable...can you verify they are the latest type mag that have received all the benefits? I bought one of every "premium" 9 mm mag that MidwayUSA carried to try. They all ran great in my 1990's era Colt 1911 9 mm.

    The .38/.45 Clerke – A Bizarre 1911 Cartridge

Most people overlook my favorite aspect about bottle neck cartridges...with that shape, the .357 Sig just about HAS to feed. Since reliability is perhaps the number one factor in a defensive firearm, the .357 Sig should be way more popular.

    Anyone else into cooking?

Back in the day, I had some furniture for sale. So this girl shows up to buy it, and I am cooking. She smells it and says what brand of sauce is that? Brand, I said. My mother would come out of her grave if I was using canned sauce, and she is not even dead yet! Anyway, I agreed to cook for her...

Show off your Every Day Carry!

Not an operator. But on a sales call, the client sees a Rolex and he understands this cat has money. I sold my vintage Rolex GMT for ten large...to chunk off my house. It was worth it.

Show off your Every Day Carry!

Well, I got into it right and it is way above me...but folks see it on my wrist and don't know it, which was advantageous when I was a working man. It left me along with most of the gun collection when Biden got elected. My wife and I sat down knowing he was going to run the economy into a...

Beretta M9 Still Riding the Seas with the Navy

I must admit, the thing is HUGE. But I always shot it remarkably well, and it was confidence inspiring because of that. A lot to try and hide, but as a house gun? You bet!

ABC suspends Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show

I kinda feel sorry for the Late Night Hosts. They did what they were told by the network, and hemorrhaged cash doing it. The Network Boys thought it was worth the money, low ratings be damned. Then when they figured out they were not reaching the youth vote like they thought, all these late...

Classic car enthusiasts step right in

It was a small car for sure. Here it is on Spring Break 1987. Schedules being what they are, I had fallen behind and it was still under primer. Still, the draw of hitting the beach in Texas in a Lotus was too strong, so we took it anyway. Note to self: when trying to pick up girls, you and your...

This 68 LeMans convertible had a date with a GTO hood to make a head turning car you could still beat on since GTO's were starting to climb in value by the late 80's.
