It is easy to do. The trick is to make sure you get a shower base with the drain on the same end as the existing tub. Otherwise you end up doing plumbing work also. Yank the old unit out, be prepared to replace the drywall behind the tub walls. Depending on the base you may have to put in...

Bought a "Super Blackhawk" at work sight unseen. Turned out to be a Super RedHawk. Nice gun but when another officer offered to swap it for one of his Super Blackhawks, I jumped all over it. Never regretted that decision.
