EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

The Echelon seems to have received quite favorable reviews. I’ll rent this as well. I appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you. I will definitely visit the rental desk at the range and try as many of my selections that they have available.

I’ve never heard of Llama. I’ll have to do some research. Thank you.

EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

Reliability is a very important factor in my decision process. Reliability is key. I don’t want to purchase a gun that is of questionable quality/performance and find out it failed me when I needed it most.

I like 1911 platform as well. We live a bit north of Pittsburgh PA and the winters require layering up so a larger carry gun might not be an issue. I definitely understand the benefit of carrying with a round in the chamber and I intend to do so once I’ve trained for a while. Best regards...

EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

I have not fired any of those guns I’m considering. The range I go to has a decent selection of rentals. In the near future I intend to try those the range has available. Thank you for contributing.

EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

I’m 58 and my eyes aren’t as sharp as they were a few years ago. And over the same time period my knees have started bugging me so evading danger could prove difficult for me. Also, I watch my grandkids fairly often and when we are out and about I feel much more confident that I can protect...

EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

I’m 6’3” 235 lbs so I’ve got the surface area for a carry gun with a little size to it. In my original post I’m not sure if I mentioned it (but it’s probably obvious) that I’m fairly new to concealed carry. Over time I hope to settle on the best carry option for me and train with the gun...

Thank you. That Staccato is a very nice gun. I can’t believe I got that one approved by my better half. Even though that pistol is not that big or heavy I need to work up to carrying it. I need to get use to the extra bulk.

Hello Everyone, Looking to sell a pistol or two (maybe three) and pick up replacements in the concealed carry size/weight range. Would anyone like to weigh in with their thoughts/ideas/preferences? The Bodyguard has been very reliable with different types of ammo. Love the weight and deep...

Reading a ballistics table chart, help needed

And, when I went on Google maps to remeasure everything I'd discovered my first flight path was actually 2,046 feet because I had measured to a barn and not the house. So if the bullet traveled that far it, again, would have almost zero energy left. If it were you shooting, would you be concerned?

And, there would only three people that would ever shoot here and everyone practices 'don't put your finger in the trigger guard until you are on target.'

Reading a ballistics table chart, help needed

Ok. Try this on for size. I'm shooting 9mm pistols with 115 FMJ. If I shoot over the corner of my property then I have 3,000 feet door to door to the first in the flight path of the projectile. Using the ballistics calculation on Federals website at 2,000 yards the bullet was almost falling...

Reading a ballistics table chart, help needed

There is a house that distance from my house to a neighbors place. I shoot in this exact direction. The is a gradual hillside behind my house that is probably 10 to 15 above where the target is set. I’ve never shot anywhere close to 10 feet above the target. Should I be concerned?

Reading a ballistics table chart, help needed

Is the attached graph telling me that at about 550 yards the bullet has dropped about 50 feet?!

Reading a ballistics table chart, help needed

Trying to figure out how much a 9mm, 115 gr., FMJ round drops at 550 yards (approx 1,670 feet). Roughly.
