I have family who were PJ's. My youngest daughter is a USAF physician and trauma doc. She provides in service medical training to PJ's. By all accounts they are a breed apart, along with Combat Controllers, TACP's, and Special Reconaissance. I am proud to know many of then.

Do you have the original grips on the gun? Original grip screws? What kind of base plate is on your magazine, metal or polymer? I ask because sometimes a magazine baseplate or grips or screws can interfere with a magazine fully seating. If you look at the front edge of your magazine base...

Hilton Yam is a wealth of information with great credibility. I am flush with 1911's at the moment but maybe one of these in the future.
