What are you doing right now??

Character actors are always appreciated as well. There are many, but Jack Elam was one of my favorites. Can't recall the spaghetti western, but the long scene where he sat at an empty RR station trying to get a fly off his face...good stuff.

What are you doing right now??

Love them old Westerns too. Watched "Valdez is Coming" for the first time. Great movie. My favorite, other than spaghetti westerns, is "Hombre." "You can be CHURE I move!" Frank Silvera, a black actor, played the Mexican bandit. He played a better Mexican bandit than a Mexican.

What are you doing right now??

Hey, me too! Heat wave here in Idaho. 42 and sunny, so... sweatshirt weather. Took my "new" 1960 EG Makarov out for the first time. Dead accurate and ran without a hiccup, as expected.

    Lamont "Sanford" dead.

Our youth have no idea how personally devastating it feels to slowly lose a country you love.

    Lamont "Sanford" dead.

They were all great. Movies were the same way. Golly, I wonder which group of people would be offended today. "Oh, no! I see "To Kill a Mockingbird" in the library! Where's their safe space?"

Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. Coming in August

I was a goofy kid. back in the early 60's, my buddies and I would mispronounce "Prix." Easily entertained. Can any old farts relate?

Yet Another State Falling to the (D) Mob

I do recall that. Also remember the huge bright yellow air raid siren at the top of a telephone pole across from my grandparent's home near Seattle in the late 50's and 60's. That thing was freaking loud, and routinely tested.

WA has some a of most draconian gun laws in the nation. Lowering crime is NOT the reason.

Damn my old brain! Okay, I recall you telling me some time ago that you were in aviation. I don't know why I joined the Navy. Probably because of my pops. I hated being underway, even though I wasn't ship's company. Just along for the ride on gator freighters.

Why do people think MIM parts are no good?

I don't mind MIM parts so much, depending on where they are used. But the firing pin? That's unacceptable. I was told by a guy in our gun shop that Springfield Armory doesn't use MIM firing pins. True or not, I don't know.

WA has some a of most draconian gun laws in the nation. Lowering crime is NOT the reason.

What was your NEC, Senior Chief? On the green Navy side, I was fortunate in the weapons handling arena, thanks to the Marines. Scored sharpshooter with that sloppy old 1911A1. Those leathernecks had me learn about and fire nearly every weapon in their arsenal...M16, M60, .50 caliber machine gun...

    Winter Weather thread 2026

I hear you. We have alpha critters here too, but very low humidity. I like 150-pound cats, elk and bears in my yard, but we do have the occasional rattler.

    Winter Weather thread 2026

Ouch! That 70% humidity is the worst part. I lived in New England for a few years, and normal winters temps stung the skin.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

That reminds me, I need another safe. I use foam on the floor and sides of mine as well. Scratches, no likey.

WA has some a of most draconian gun laws in the nation. Lowering crime is NOT the reason.

Of course cops and military aren't guaranteed to be the best on a case by case basis, but overall, I'd trust their knowledge and proper use of firearms far more than the general public as a whole.
