    Welcome Message

I guess you, papa, or I could be considered a "damned ol' grouch". Well, you and papa might be anyway, but I really don't think it applies to either of us. ;):D

papa, you're so old you wouldn't know for sure if anybody called you that, and even if you did you'd forget it in about 3 seconds anyway! But you would probably "grouch" about it for that 3 seconds! Oh, well that kinda' covers it don't it? ;):D

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Earlier I wrote about my old shovel head with "left foot shift and right foot brake" ... when it was actually the opposite. Just goes to show how time and age affects the memory. I'm thinking it was a late 60's model, Oh well :).

    Five Must-Dos of Home Defense

If you have a fenced yard, put a 'Watch donkey' in there. They get very possessive and protective as the devil.

    Daffy Zone…..

Sorry, but I don't see a lot of logic there. It is certainly a gate, and likely a good one, but I just don't get the design.

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

It was a used bike when I bought it and had several mods done to it, but best I remember it started out as a Mod 3, but after the previous owner and I were done, it was by far more like a Scrambler (early bobber - sorta'). Dang, just thinking back on these times helps me understand just how long...

RIP Mr Isky. In his day, what he didn't know about cams didn't need to be known!

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Started out back in early 60's with a HD 165 Hummer. Then sometime after the Hummer, traded it for a mid-late 60's Shovelhead 1100 IIRC. It was a semi built chopper of the day and still had the left foot shift and right foot brake as I recall. Over the years except while military, had several...

foregoing any firearm buys and loading up on p/u upgrades for the next month or 2

LOL .... Talking about all this work. Some of you must have a death wish, some are just gluttons for punishment. When I was a young man, I truly enjoyed playing with my hot rods and fast women ahhh cars. Then one day I woke up and realized "Damn", this is a lot of work! I've got to stop putting...

You Need to Zero Your Pistol Redd Dot...But at What Distance?

Odds are, if they're sight focused, it's not going to make much difference whether they're co-witnessing or not.

Didn’t know an M1 Carbine could be this accurate!

I always thought I wanted an M1 carbine, just never found the right one. Then dad passed on and left me his 'Universal'. But I made it a safe queen for a few years, and before I realized it I had included it in a bunch of guns I gave to my 'yard' son when the wife and I moved into the...

Chiappa Rhino 44 Mag: Bigger, Better, Bottom Firing — SHOT Show 2026

I'm pretty sure that gun is a real handful, both to the stooter and the shootee. But that has to be the ugliest thing on this earth.

You Need to Zero Your Pistol Redd Dot...But at What Distance?

I too use a 10yd (30') zero to sight my red dot in. 9mm, 124gr bullet and hand loaded. At a velocity of just over 1100'/sec that puts my round at almost exactly the same elevation at 50yds as it is at 10yds. Nowhere in the 50yds does the round rise more than 1" above the line of sight. My...
