    Ammo Question

I bought two boxes of .380acp from Target Sports, and have shot about 30 rounds at the range. It was just fine. I did not notice a difference between it and the Federal I had been shooting before opening the box of New Republic.

    Black Rifle Coffee

I drink a lot of coffee; there is a cup on my desk at work all day, and my preference is to make it in an old-style percolator. When I do buy coffee out, I refuse to pay the price of "premium" coffee. Just make it hot and strong. No sugar. No dairy products. The local 7-11 makes good coffee...

Electric or Natural Gas? What's your preference?

My preference is a gas cook top and an electric oven.

warning about Armscor .22 lr ammo

I had a similar problem twice with my Walther PPK/s 22lr. Both times I was using Remington Golden Bullet ammo. Walther repaired the firearm under warranty the first time. After the second time, I did not bother having it repaired. That said, I no longer use Armscor or Aguila ammo because, at...

    Another 100 degree day

There were two deaths in Big Bend National Park yesterday. The temps were almost 120°. I grew up on a farm in western Texas (not to be confused with West, Texas). The heat can be dangerous. https://www.nps.gov/bibe/learn/news/two-fatalities-in-big-bend-national-park.htm

    More great News

We make the same change three years ago. The salesman told us it would pay for itself in electricity savings in five years. He was wrong. I has already paid for itself. The difference in efficiency is incredible.

You’ll Shoot Your Nuts Off! Five Reasons to Rethink Appendix Carry

My concern with appendix carry isn't testicles, but the femoral artery.

    Bersa thunder 380

My first handgun was a Bersa Thunder .380. It's a great carry gun. I have never had a jam, failure to feed, or failure to fire with it. Now I mostly carry a Walther Creed, but mostly because 9mm range ammo is considerably less expensive than .380 range ammo.

    What are we reading?

Great book. MacIntyre has several popular histories on WWII topics. All are good reads. You might also check out Rick Atkinson's books on WW2.

    Ammo Check

S & B and Armscor work well in 9mm, but it is a bit dirtier than most ammo.

Do You Avoid Places Where You Are Not Permitted To Carry A Firearm?

I respect the right of the property owner to have a "gun-free" business. That said, I give preference to those establishments which allow concealed carry, and that is mostly for the convenience factor. It's a bit of a hassle to stow the firearm in the locked box cabled under the seat before...

    New windows

Part of the problem is the shortage of labor right now. I work for a lawn maintenance company and part of my job is setting appointments for estimates. It's tough right now. We have more requests than we have manpower to fulfill, so we have to pick our jobs carefully. Granted, there is little...

    Hammer fired guns

I would encourage you to get a Bersa Thunder 380. Mine was my first handgun, and is still my primary carry gun. It is small enough to conceal well, thin enough to conceal comfortably, and it runs flawlessly. It is small enough to pocket carry—although I usually don't because I need my pockets...

    Need A New Coffee Maker

Keurigs are certainly convenient, but they don't make the best coffee. My preference is my 30 year-old GE percolator. They are still available, and highly recommended. Also, if you go the Keurig route, make sure to use a dark roasted variety of coffee, such as Folgers' Black Silk or Green...

    Has anybody…….

I haven't seen much change in the past couple of months. I now get most of my ammo from Kir Ammo (www.kirammo.com), and the current prices on 9mm FMJ are within a fraction of a cent of what I paid back in mid-July. Kir mostly sells mail order, but they are just down the street, so I can pick up...

    Impressive Performance from "Cheap" Guns?

I picked up a Walther Creed a couple of years after Walther quit making them. It was new and in the box, just left over stock. It is an excellent firearm.
