    Dire situation in Virginia

A valid point, even though the penalty time could/would be argued and conditional. But in reality, those who act against human decency and the law have themselves forfeited their rights to "keep and bear" firearms. It wasn't taken from them. Generally speaking, no one is deprived of their...

    Dire situation in Virginia

I think Charlamagne should recognize the fundamental difference between simply carrying a concealed weapon to a protest, and carrying a concealed weapon to a protest where you plan and anticipate causing an altercation.

    Anyone else into cooking?

There's no such thing as "not so good ribeye".

    Blanton's Bourbon

I wrote a couple nights ago about how I had recently switched to Buffalo Trace from Old #7 and really liked it. And I'm finding that the BT is sometimes harder to find than the JD. Recently I was gifted a bottle of JD Single Barrel, but since I have quite a supply of good bourbons and whiskeys...

Brass Matters: Variance, Longevity, and the Hidden Geometry of Case Life

Case length is as important (sometimes even more-so) as work hardening vs annealing, especially in bottle neck cartridges. Case length is less important in straight walled cartridges, but be aware of it in cases that 'headspace' on the case mouth.

    RCBS 3 WAY Trimmer

Both of the Wally-Worlds close to me not only dropped all handgun ammo, but anything related to so-called assault rifles as well. No .223/5.56, and no 7.62 NATO, but occasionally I'll see some 308.

    RCBS 3 WAY Trimmer

I'm pretty sure the word chamfering applies to both inside and outside the case mouth. It's just a different word for de-burring by beveling the edge. I've seen it written both ways in various books and manuals and it applies to both the reasons given. Kinda' like tomatoe-tomato/tomayto-tomahto...

    RCBS 3 WAY Trimmer

I don't remember ever actually looking for .284 dia bullets since I don't have anything to shoot that caliber, but it sure seems like I've often seen them whenever I've been looking for .277 dia stuff for my .270 Win.

    Blanton's Bourbon

There ya go! Much closer to my cost allowances. I really like me some "Buffalo Trace". First time I tried it was at a restaurant that had no Jack Daniels #7 on hand, so I tried it. After that ol' #7, having been my favorite sippin' whisky for nigh on to 50 years, it's taken a 2nd spot to the...

    The Story of Gunpowder

I know it's not what you were looking for but MidouthShooterSupply.com has a little Alliant on hand, or did a few days ago. Primarily 'Reloader 50", and 'Reloader7', and some 'Red Dot'. I watch them pretty closely and it seems they get some small amounts of "Alliant" on a fairly regular basis...

    Anyone else following silver prices?

I've been dabbling in precious metals, primarily silver bullion for several years and right now things are looking pretty good. But my best buy/deal ever was a few years ago I had a pickup truck for sale and a good friend wanted it but had little money. But he had a gold piece in proof condition...

    Daffy Zone…..

I agree, all squids/swabbies were generally good people. And if Mobile Bay was command center on her decommishioning tour, it was most likely some kind of special tribute to her and/or her crew. Typically the CVN's and CVBG's are command center of battle groups IIRC.

    Daffy Zone…..

Many, many vessels have a lot of water tight doors/hatches ... but they're not all in a row like that for sure! Just out of curiosity, how long is a 'Arlie Burke' class. That's a DDS, right?

Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

KF77, with the seemingly unlimited number of bottles you've got, just how the hell do you ever decide which one is best ... or at least the one you think is best at the moment. Me? I've never had more than three bottles of anything at one time/place, and by the time I finished the first bottle...

Why I Don't Volunteer That I'm Armed To The Police

Good advice for going anywhere you're unfamiliar with. 'Not knowing' is more often than not, not a valid defense.

    Home Defense Options

Some of the recent replies have a touch of humor which I always enjoy, and some of them offer some real food for thought. One of my thoughts is and has been that a handgun w/some amount of user proficiency is more suited to home defense simply due to the ease of handling and concealment in close...

    Home Defense Options

I love the idea of dogs and have almost always had a couple I could depend on for many things ... stranger awareness being one of them. However, since the wife and I moved here to the 'institution', having another one is almost out of the question. We still had one when we moved in about 7 years...
