    Who’s Up for a NEW WILSON - $200 and It’s Yours!

I never played marbles in my life. I thought those glass balls were slingshot ammo until I was an adult.

    A G Russell Sting

We share a lot of the same taste in guns and blades...and letter openers. This is a simple, elegant design that is very balanced in the hand. And the letter opener got me into a NPE Auto Auction last year, so it is still relevant.

First Look: Polished Blued SA-35 9mm

Someone say two tone Browning? Factory two tone model they called the "Practical". Some had adjustable sights, and some had fixed if you were serious about carrying it. This has at various times swapped places on my hip with the 1911.

    wheel of fortune

When I was a kid, we camped because it was cheap. Only vacations I knew. I still enjoy it, but only in cold weather. I am not camping in the summer in Missouri ever again!

A few questions to get me started?

Gents, we have a new to the hobby guy that is asking serious questions and looking for help. The Hy Point discussion almost ran me off the forum because I thought you were serious. Please don't do that with a new shooter.

A few questions to get me started?

As mentioned, we need to know what your are planning to use it for. A Beretta 92 is a fantastic first gun if you don't like Glocks. It is kinda big to carry concealed, but that is one reason everybody seems to shoot it well. Unless they have really small hands. The trigger is another, much...

    "Pics", or it didn't happen

I have pictures but nobody believes my life anyway. Heck, I was THERE and only believe about a third of the stories.

Are Gun Shows worth your time?

Another thing about the interweb...it has added money to the hobby. Just like cars and vintage motorcycles, before the internet, stuff for classics ( ) fill in the blank, cars guns, motorcycles, everything else in the world, was very time intensive. Had to go to shows to find what you are...

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

The British bikes were great fun on back roads around Missouri, but sometimes a fella has to tour out of State. The reliability and smooth powerplant of the Japanese bikes were hard to pass up. The Interceptor was a fantastic sport touring bike. By knocking off some of the hard edges of a pure...

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

I was the only Triumph rider I saw at Aspencade! I bought my first house brand new when I was 22. Had a bed and a desk, so when the people at my office wanted to throw a housewarming party, I moved the motorcycles into the living room so they would have a place to sit. Ah, the bachelor life!

    Springfield’s 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911

Not my cuppa as Simon sez, but that is because I have not shot in a competition in decades. This has too many features for a carry gun. (for me at least) I am too old to unlearn the Harries Technique, so no light rails for me. No ambi safety as I am not a lefty and an ambi gets swept off too...

    My "new" S&W 4516-1

They seem "chunky" because they are heavy for their size. But comparing the width with a 1911 shows it is as easy to hide inside the waistband as the 1911. I have never had a jam or misfire with mine of any sort and would carry it again today without hesitation.

    Anyone into Crypto?

I am uneasy about it because a group of people agree it is worth something so suddenly it is worth something. Seems to me they could change their mind and start backing something else and my investment dies off. At least investing in a company they have assets...building, inventory, accounts...

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Loved the British bikes, and without adult supervision they really have a habit of multiplying. Yes, that is a 1962 Corvette in the garage as well. Good time to be Eric!

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Thirty accident free years on two wheels. Even though I consider myself a car guy, there was a time in my life when I owned multiple motorcycles, but nothing with four wheels. Got married fourteen years ago, was riding less and less because my wife was not going to get on the back for love nor...

    My "new" S&W 4516-1

The 4516 was on my hip for a while back in the day. I eventually went back to the 1911 but it was just because I shoot that platform better than any other semi automatic. Actually liked the safety aspect of the double action 4516. With a Milt Sparks holster inside the waistband, it was not any...

Is the NRA Foundation in ‘Reputation Repair’ Mode?

The Left would like nothing better than for the NRA to fold up their tent. The NRA is weeding out the folks that abused the system. They remain the ONLY gun rights organization that is feared by politicians. We can't let them lose that position while they get their act together. Stop the money...

Is Kimber the go-to for 1911s these days?

I have had several Springfields. The Mil Spec is my entry level recommendation...good sights, decent trigger, excellent construction and reliability. I carried one in the 90's for several years and a lot of miles. I would ride the river with it again today.

It has been too cold to practice

I do love my old wreck of a 97 as I affectionately call my riot gun. When I get into a slump on the sporting clays field I can always count on my 97 to snap me out of it, even though I am teased by the over and under crowd.
