    Smaller Guns for Defense?

My philosophy too.... I carry a Colt Agent 38Sp about 90% of the time.

6mm Remington - My Favorite Rifle & Load

That longer case neck than the 243 helps makes it easier to reload too.

    I have a question.

Yes, mine was a 300 Wby. In hindsight, I do miss that rifle.

    Emergency Money

No, I do 20s, 50s and $100s. Couple of grand, total. I live on the northern coast of the Gulf of 'Merica, so I am in hurricane country six months out of the year. When a storm hits, the power is out, sometimes for weeks at a time. I can't very well run my credit card, but I can darn sure...

TAX STAMPS - Will Next Democrat Admin Try to Recoup

I do think it is wise to go ahead while its cheap ...... has anyone noticed the price on suppressors come down yet? I guess I look at it both ways: This puts me, yet again, in a database I don't believe I should be in and violates my rights, and if there is a way to monetize <cough, cough>...

Galco's APO Belt Holster Now Available for "Commander-sized" 4.25" 1911s with or without Red Dot Sight

Yep, good point. And let's be honest .... if you're toting a pistol in the backcountry for defense, what use is an optic/RDS if you get charged by an angry bear? Are you really going to line up the dot to shoot? I hope the heck not!

    I have a question.

Nice....I had the exact same rifle once. That M70 is not a pre-64, which is really only a big deal to a collector, not a shooter or hunter. The "pre-64" was only chambered in 270, 30-06, 300 Savage (rare!), 308 and 7x57, from all the accounts I have read.

Galco's APO Belt Holster Now Available for "Commander-sized" 4.25" 1911s with or without Red Dot Sight

Well now, that makes sense in those circumstances. Perhaps I should have been clearer .... if for personal protection, then *I* think a retention strap is a no-no. If banging around in the Bush, different concerns.

Galco's APO Belt Holster Now Available for "Commander-sized" 4.25" 1911s with or without Red Dot Sight

If your holster is canted, you have to "swing' the pistol (revolver) that much further around to get up on your sights. Always seemed like common sense to me. I have never really bought into the argument that a canted holster provides you "more concealment," but I get it .... I get that...

    OTHER guns

My first impression is that the .38 Super will not fit any M&P magazines, and the mag well likewise is too short. The max length on a .38 Super is 1.280 while the 9mm is 1.169. The breech face would likewise need rework. Does anyone even make a S&W M&P barrel for the 38 Super?

Virginia senators want to inflict their tyrannical gun strategy on entire country

I worried that when Gabbie Giffords was injured, it was the beginning of the end. Then Scalise. Now with this WHCD fiasco, we may well see more efforts. Who knows. We certainly need to keep up the fight.

    My 10mm vs. Mountain Lion

I’d be leary of using the Sig and getting a pass-through shot. But I also don’t hunt cats for a living, so what do I know? In the 40s there was Steve Mathes, a paid-for predator control agent out in California who used a converted Colt Peacemaker chamber in 218 Bee for cats that had been treed...

The Rise of Modern Rifle Cartridges: Creedmoor, PRC, ARC, RPM, and Legends

Hornady has definitely done more to support our hobby than a lot of other players in the space. I thank them for that. And it has undoubtedly been good for their bottom line. I also think the GWOT has played a role too .... lots of young men were introduced to the AR platform thanks to their...
