Your very first loan...What was it for?

Student loan, in the words of Dorothy “what would you do with a brain if you had one?”. Turns out I’d drive a truck.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

This came home. I ordered a pair, but talked my buddy into adopting the twin sister. Cleaned its MK III cousin complete with a solid 10 minute struggle to reassemble. This was to familiarize myself with why I detested using it as a suppressor host. The new MKIV 22/45 was stripped rinsed oiled...

    .41 Special loads

Let us know where you settle out. I’ve got a good Unique load, but I’ve about taken the cure due to spotty availability for what seems a decade now.

    Bye Bye Springfield Armory?

Granted I left about 30 years ago, but it was always my opinion I-64 was a more appropriate delineation of damn yankee incursions, I could agree to I-70 even. I-80 is a stretch they don’t even know what grits are, let alone eat them. 😂😂

    Anyone gone back to steel?

Sorta an aluminum guy. But, I’ve been dallying with polymer and I’m okay with that, striker fire however I simply can’t get the appeal.

    Enduro racing

Worked a couple races long ago. Made me lust over a Husky pretty badly. Unfortunately I had to eat back then and pay college tuition. Both seamed important at the time. 🤷

Haha! I've always said that EVs just, ummm...suck.

what is it the kids are saying? “Tell me you don’t need a car without saying you don’t need a car”. As a second vehicle I believe you can make it work, for most households. I just can’t see paying the bills on what amounts to a green talisman.

Oldest Self Defense Gun You Would Still Carry?

I have a P-239 SIG I routinely carry. I don’t think of it as old though, I have a hard time thinking of myself as old.

    JB Bore Paste

I’ve used the stuff for years, as needed. It doesn’t scare me in the least, saves time on stubborn copper and carbon deposits. Last time I went to work with it was polishing up the rails on a new stainless 1911. Mixed it into some oil dabbed it into the rails reassembled and worked that thing...

    Nice belt ya got there

That pic was taken when I got that rig. Left my hard on leather job 30 years ago, decided rolling around on the ground was not for me after all.

    Nice belt ya got there

3 beltman belts, black tooled, plain black (18 years old), and a tooled natural color. 1 from Nixon leather that matches a couple holsters made with Camel hide.

    Truck tires

I’ve been running Falken Wildpeaks for the past 60k E load range on an F150. The Toyo you referenced was just enough more $ to make the decision. 42psi and they still look perfect, wearing evenly. I expect to get 10k more miles out of these.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Hella sale on Ruger MK4 today, included a Prairie Tactical can as well. Picked up a matching pair. After the turmoil I’ll return and get the paperwork completed. Wasn’t sure I needed one but left with two, how does this happen?

Self-Defense While Hunting: What Handgun Should You Carry?

For my purposes it’s been a Ruger SP-101 chambered in .327 Fed. I keep a few .32 longs available for grouse/bunnies. It’s light enough I’ll take it with me. If I’m elbows deep in an animal a pistol on my hip might be nice if a lion or wolf showed up. When honest about this the 32 longs are...

.327 Federal Magnum Ammo from Federal and Speer

I’ve been shooting one for years, SP-101, and later a Single Seven. As the man said it’s bonafide 😉. Unfortunately I believe it is best suited to a reloader. Alternatively you must keep your eyes open and be ready to buy online in bulk when it comes out. Seems they make a run once a year.

    Choosing Your First Hunting Rifle

Had been a bow hunter forever, but found myself signed up for an elk hunting trip. I researched enough to narrow the field and went shopping. 300WM checked all my boxes including availability. I knew what I was getting but I didn’t realize how much of it I was getting. The one wise decision I...

Are Gun Shows worth your time?

I walked across town, arrived pretty late and paid nothing to get in. After a few “ You serious Clark’s” I left feeling like I needed a shower and a tumbler of Eagle Rare to wash the experience from my memory. I’d been warned, but the promise of cheap dream catchers and crappy beef jerky was a...

    Whatever happened to....

If semis are unable to move, the letter carriers have nothing to carry. It seems everything must leave town to get sorted so it can come back to town to be delivered. Our carriers are not wilting flowers, -20 check, 10” snow check, assuming the mail made it to town I guess. Herterville is...
