Only ones I have seen were Federal. Don't know the story behind them, TBH

Russia starts basic military training early

I saw a headline that said the life expectancy of new troops on the front line was about 10 minutes. I can't imagine what drone warfare must be like.

    Whos hunted BEAR

Revolver - most often was my M29-3, 8-3/8" (for sight radius), but I've used other revolvers. No optics on the revolvers. Elevated shooting house, bait piles, either bulk cheap dog food mixed with bacon grease or donuts and pies with maple syrup added. Distance was +/- 50 feet, as I recall...

    Whos hunted BEAR

Haven't personally taken one (yet) but have relatives and friends I hunt with in Virgina (black bear). I just haven't picked the right stand yet, I guess. I have been taking one of my large bore revolvers. I would love to have a rug one day. Hunting for pigs, alligators and birds has kept...

    Amateur Radio Operators

Same here … very interested at one time, but no mentors in my AO and then other interesting things took over.

What are you doing right now??

Finishing my last cup (third?) of coffee, about to get in the pool and think about next weekends menu. Probably consume a few adult beverages this afternoon. No court in the morning, so I don’t have to be anywhere on time tomorrow morning, haha!

    Why revolvers?

Disclaimer: I have never been involved in a shooting, and never even had to draw my concealed weapon. I am a civilian. Pure and simple. My needs and daily activities are far different from those of a deputy sheriff in my semi-rural county. Now hear me out on this. I know a lot of guys on this...

    Why revolvers?

I’m a devoted fan of both the 1911 and the revolver. I am also smitten with revolver’s method of operation: straightforward, uncluttered, and rugged. It’s arguably the most reliable repeating handgun design ever made, capable of defying conditions that force many semi-automatics and 1911s to...

Should I Put Optics on My 1911 (or Not)?

It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I do think there is a place for optics … but I’ve spent so many years and sent countless thousands…maybe hundreds of thousands…of rounds down range…while focusing on my sights that honestly the technique of just looking at a dot on a target is at times...

love that Lucas Extreme Duty oil

I submit that you are over thinking this. An ICE engine is not the same as a firearm and any comparison is not really a valid comparison .... I know it has been hotly debated for as long as there have been ICEs and firearms. Anytime the subject of "firearm lubricants" come up, you can ask 5...

love that Lucas Extreme Duty oil

The most important thing I want is CLEAN lubricant. Lucas works very well, so does Ballistol, white lithium and action lube. For years used lots of Mobil 1 in Zero or 5 wt with no issues either.............in hot weather, if using Mobil 1, I'll move up to 10 wt. Really not much need to look...

Should I Put Optics on My 1911 (or Not)?

My thoughts on the topic .....In the words of the late Louis Awerbuck, (paraphrasing) "don't hang s____ off your pistol."

Well, at least Glock magazines are probably more plentiful than the magazines of other guns.

Can we have a little fun WHAT Would you pick?

Boy you're not kidding! Easy. AR15. The choice of a PCC is going to make magazines a critical factor. With an AR, there is a greater likelihood that you will find spare mags in your AO. Plan accordingly. Remember the thread about what to have when the system breaks down and component...

    What Might Have Been...

I would snatch one of those RM380s up if/when I find one. I just think they are "neat." Wouldn't consider carrying one as a primary, EDC, but oh the cool factor.
