In PA you can own & shoot ar-15's & ar-10's or any other semi-autos ... BUT ... you can not hunt deer, bear, etc with a semi-auto. So if you like the feel of the platform this will allow you to hunt with it.

My .308 Sears model 51 is all I've ever hunted deer with. I love the accuracy and the fantastic trigger but mostly the power of the cartridge. I bought it used about 40 years ago and its never failed me. It's part of me now.

@Anchorite, I understand what you're saying and thinking. For a while there some of the parking lots at the major stores the next town over were getting a little sketchy to navigate with groups of illegals hanging around and walking through the lots in groups. I almost stopped going to them...

Wow! I like the charging handle being up front along the barrel, you don't have to move the rifle away from your body to charge the rifle like you do on an AR. The wood is beautiful! Let us know how it shoots and how that hiperfire trigger feels.

As far as I can tell the front sight is the same fiber optic that's on my mod.3. Slide serrations is all I can see different.

FYI ... I just saw today the XD MOD.3 is discontinued and the new XD MOD.4 is in. Only difference i can see is the slide sedation are different. Hmmm!
