Hiking Safety: Danger Lurks with Every Step

Sound advice. I've hiked many a mile and enjoyed some great views. But always watch what's under your feet. ;)

Remington Handguns: Parts 1 and 2

I have an Uberti 1875 clone and really like it. If you notice, the grip sits just a little farther back than on the Colt/Ruger style single actions. This keeps the back of the trigger guard from slamming into the middle knuckle of my shooting hand. ;) I also have a 1911R1. I think these guns...

AZAO Binary Rapid Deployment Thermite Device

I remember them showing us Thermite grenades in basic training. They're used to destroy stuff you don't want the enemy to have. Place one on top of the engine in a vehicle and a couple of minutes later it burns completely through and drops out the bottom. I can't imagine a civilian use for them.

Ichord Report: What If Congress Had Let the M16 Die?

When I was at Ft. Hood with 2nd Armored, I was a tracked vehicle driver. I was supposed to have a 1911, but we didn't have enough. There was no rifle rack in the driver's compartment so I had to just lay my M-16A1 on the floor when driving. After I broke the third stock, our armorer found me a...

Self-Steering Bullets -DARPA’s Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) Program

I don't think of a .50 BMG as a small caliber. But it is an interesting concept.

    Ronin 10mm is TRASH!

I always wonder about a new guy coming to a forum just to trash the product. He must be such a sad, sad, little man. 😞

Ichord Report: What If Congress Had Let the M16 Die?

The M-16A1 wasn't much better. I saw a bunch of 'em malfunction. I never did fully trust mine. 🤬

    Background check

Most all the dealers around here do it all on computer now. They just hand you a laptop and say "fill this out."

Should you STAY or should you GO?

Too old and decrepit. I ain't going nowhere. They may get me, but my body will be laying in a pile of brass. ;)

    Judge begs Supreme Court

Did anybody else notice that when the Judge is talking about magazines he said "you can replace the STANDARD magazine with one that holds fewer rounds" At the 3:40 mark Even he acknowledges that hi-cap mags are the STANDARD. 🤬

Wayne M: no need to worry. Just another day in the asylum. ;)

    M1A difficulties after mounting scope

Its possible that the scope mount screw is a tad bit too long and interfering with the bolt. The hole for that screw is located right through the bolt rail in the receiver. Could be that the upward pressure from a loaded magazine is just enough to cause it to hang up.

Texas Senate Candidate Consistently Voted Against 2A

I spent two years at Ft. Hood in central Texas in 1972-74. It was a great place. I always thought that if I ever left Tennessee, I'd go to Texas. But looking at Texas now, I don't recognize it anymore. Sad indeed. 😞

    Girsan P-35, PI, LW, Match

I have that exact same model. I like it a lot. But I'm a long time Hi-Power fan anyway. Trigger is a little heavy, but I can live with it. So far its been completely reliable and acceptably accurate. The alloy frame makes a big difference in how it carries. The only thing I don't like is...

Ayoob: My Take on the SA-35

I have one. Stumbled across it several years ago LNIB. Great gun, but these days worth too much to carry. I also have a Girsan MCP-35 PI LW which is basically the same gun in a lightweight. I will carry that one. BUT I STILL WANNA 4" SA-35 IN A LIGHTWEIGHT! YA HEAR ME SPRINGFIELD!

Ayoob: My Take on the SA-35

I love my SA-35. To me its the Hi-Power perfected. All the most desirable upgrades straight from the factory. (y) SA really hit a home run on their design for the safety lever. This old 1911 guy feels right at home with it. I really want one of the new 4" guns. But I'm gonna hold off for...
