    JB Bore Paste

I’ve used it. Rifles, handguns, centerfire and rimfire. Works great. No harm. I work some into a patch and run it down the bore slowly. It makes an OK polish also, and I’ve used more of it doing that. I have heard of people applying it to the action parts of say a revolver or lever...

    Original Sig P-210

Nice! I have one of the Danish contract guns that were imported by DS Arms several years ago (The m/49). I wish I had the accoutrements you have. If one word could describe them, it would be “smooth”. OK, except for the hammer bite. That’s not smooth. I don’t usually get bit by guns...

What are you doing right now??

I just finished watching the F1 race. Best one this year. The new Cadillac team may not win anything for a while, but finishing the race with both cars put them ahead of many today.

    A Tale of Two Calibers

Super nice result! But I’m biased toward almost anything .44 Spl. I almost didn’t read it because I had read the earlier 544 conversion article and thought that’s what was linked.

    A Yost Hi-Power In .40 S&W: Custom Coolness

BHPs bite different people different ways. The most obvious is by the spur. The other way is by what I call the shank- the upright between the hammer pivot pin and the spur. From what I’ve seen, more people get bit by this than the spur. Sometimes a change to a hammer with a different...

    A Yost Hi-Power In .40 S&W: Custom Coolness

I have a BHP .40 S&W. It’s my only remaining .40 and I kept it because it’s the only gun in that caliber I ever had that truly shot well. The thicker slide messes with the wonderful HiPower balance IMO, making it feel more like a 1911 to me. Small difference to most unless they are used to...

For you 1911 guys how many mags do you carry?

Jerry Ahern again! When I carry a 1911, I carry two spare mags. Come to think of it… When I carry a HiPower, I carry two spare mags. When I carry a revolver, I carry two speedloaders.

Can you get past an actors politics

If they hold a belief opposing mine and keep it private, I don’t care. Ideally, I shouldn’t know what they think about hot topics. If they want to preach to me about it, I don’t want to hear it. With some exceptions, that also includes if we are on the same side. That’s not why I bought a...

    Anyone carry TWO?

What’s the worst that can happen if you lose any of these things? But even at that, I do know people who have a spare car key tucked away somewhere. A lot of people wear a watch in addition to having a clock on their phone. I’ve known lots of people who keep two knives on them. And when...

    Anyone carry TWO?

Why did i post that? This may get long. Those who do carry a second/third/whatever can come up with plenty of reasons to rationalize it. I'm one who carries a spare, and I can probably come up with 50-60 reasons why. And four or five of those actually make some sense! But those who don't...

Getting face licks from my dog. I just got home from giving an annual Range Safety Orientation at the conservation club. Trying to keep us open another year.

    Any Double Rifle enthusiasts here?

And one big advantage I see to them, that no other type offers, is you can have two independent actions and barrels. Designs vary, so its not completely true with some that share mechanical components, but with others its the case. One can fail completely, and you still have a rifle.

    Any Double Rifle enthusiasts here?

I would love to be a double rifle enthusiast, but don’t have the income. They are very interesting though, that’s for sure. For someone of the means, they would be a collecting and shooting world all their own.

    Anyone carry TWO?

I have a… I don’t know… call it a thought exercise for everyone. As you go about your day tomorrow, at random times, ask yourself “If I needed my carry gun right this second, how easily can I get it?” Do this from the time you get up until you go back to bed. All day long. Think about this...

    Top .380 Self-Defense Rounds?

If I were to carry a .380, penetration would be my concern. I’d load either Buffalo Bore 100 cast, Underwood 100 cast, or the old Remington 102 Golden Saber.
