I agree with the snubby is not a good first time gun. Takes a lot of dry fire practice, and a lot of range. Practice to get fairly good with one.

Update from my 2025 post. I still pick a Snub for the pocket every day. Lately a second goes in the waist also.

This old thread just popped up. Someone liked my snub choice from 2025. I’m still carrying Snubs, Two daily. One in my pocket and one in the waist. Here are the Snubs I pick from daily. In the winter months while in Florida only Three will go with me.

When I worked at gun shops, I cleaned guns for people. And one occasion, I cleaned a 642 for gentlemen. I don’t remember what the gun shop charged him but when he saw the job I did on the gun claimed it was cleaner than when he bought it new. He gave me a nice tip.
