Well, I guess the chronograph could be wrong. I was surprised myself. I never said I wasn't sacrificing anything. Obviously the polymer flexes in the XDM-Elite which for me, I perceive as softer compared to the forged steel of the 1911. Different impulse, plain and simple.

Honestly, between my 1911 Kimber Rapide 5" and my SA XDM-Elite 3.8" 10mm i only lost 100fps. Sooooo, believe it or not my 3.8" is much more tame than the 1911.

I do not run suppressed. I've tried several ambidextrous charging handles none made the escaping gas less. Both of my AR's fit so tight that the little red "wedge" cannot be used, I gave it away. 😉 You do you, I'm not here to say it's a waste of time. IME I personally didn't find a difference...

For the record, the two piece upper and lower allow gas that forces the bolt back escapes between the two halves. I fail to understand how a different charging handle will stop that.
