Ronin 10mm is TRASH!

Love / Hate to see his reaction if he bought one of the $5,000 pistols he referenced with dirt on it. They're almost always covered with smegma. The brown wax paper included in most boxes should tell you everything. Picked up a new TRP Operator full rail a few weeks ago. Took it home and cleaned then to the range. Great pistol no issues.

Think he's gone. Hoping the fun continues.
 
The people who buy the "mini" 10mm pistols are defeating the purpose of the cartridge. (Hint: it isn't a low-pressure cartridge like the .45 ACP.) The shooters think they're "cool" until they discover how much they are compromising the round in a vain attempt to shoehorn the cartridge into a smaller platform. It becomes abusive, and the owner complains of how it limits his time on the range.

Not smart.

I bought a MAC IX PCC Nice gun, but I had a LEOSA qualification coming up só I kind of put it aside. When I got time to clean and lubricate it was spotless, except for the barrel. Someone must really have enjoyed test firing it because I was on my tenth cleaning patch before I made any progress. The barrel was fine, it sure wasn’t a five or even 25 round test fire.

Those are nice guns. i didn't even check if it was dirty. i oiled it and made it more dirtier. lol

Honestly, between my 1911 Kimber Rapide 5" and my SA XDM-Elite 3.8" 10mm i only lost 100fps. Sooooo, believe it or not my 3.8" is much more tame than the 1911.
 
You can keep thinking that way, but you are, in fact, sacrificing the true ability of 10mm Auto Cartridge. Maximum charges will make that small pistol buck without the added ballistic advantages. This wasn't the purpose of the round.

Well, I guess the chronograph could be wrong. I was surprised myself. I never said I wasn't sacrificing anything. Obviously the polymer flexes in the XDM-Elite which for me, I perceive as softer compared to the forged steel of the 1911. Different impulse, plain and simple.

So the 100 fps isn't any real sacrifice. These velocities put it down with the lower-end .40 S&W. More bark, less bite.
This seems like a poor trade-off.

Pittdogg: Don't worry, they'll sell you anything as long as you are willing to buy it. Most of the "macho" men who feel muzzle blast tolerance illustrates how tough they are. The "I'm tough" crowd impresses no one but those who think so. PT Barnum was right. There is one born every minute.

If .40 S&W performance is desired, a .40 S&W pistol should be chosen. A simple barrel swap will meet this need.
