@insanedude101 i’d be willing to bet a dinner at a drive up window that it is. Try putting your right thumb over the back of your left thumb to keep it away from the slide lock. See if it locks back after firing the last round to confirm.

Check your grip. It may be too high and your thumb rides on top of the slide release/lock. Next time it happens don’t break your grip and check to see where your thumb is. This happens to me all the time. Especially with Walther’s.

As of this morning, Target Sports USA Federal 38 is $.54/rd while Remington 32 is $1.19/rd. That’s the cheapest for each.

I have the S&W 686 Plus 4". It is heavy, so your mom may not enjoy it much (i could be wrong). However, it shoots like dream. Shooting 38spl is really easy, even with +P. You may consider the 3" version and save a bit on weight. If you can rent one, do so. Is this for home defense?
