DRILL OF THE MONTH: Armada Standards

Thanks for the link, Talyn. I saw this drill a while back and tried it, only I don’t have a shot timer so I couldn’t calculate my score. Probably at least an 8!! :)

Need advice for first time hunt with no experience

I have always carried a Fanny pack for my supplies like gloves, cleaning knife, etc. I suggest you include a small section of appropriate rope for dragging deer. Include a flashlight—you will need it. Also include a good compass and map of the area, fire starting materials, a space blanket...

Discussion: Lessons Learned: Facing Down a Carjacking

There is often a big difference in “official policy” promulgated by corporate legal departments (or biased administrators) and the practical self preservation needs of customers and employees.

Discussion: Lessons Learned: Facing Down a Carjacking

Thanks for the link, Mike. I am pretty sure the author already knows what he should have done. I am not familiar with him and don’t know his background, but it takes a certain amount of courage to admit your mistakes like he did. I am glad he survived the encounter with no lasting effects...

    NRA Board of Directors Election

I haven’t either, Bob. In my experience, big talker = little doer.

    NRA Board of Directors Election

I believe you can still vote if you have been a member for five years or more. Call the membership number on the back of your card and request a ballot.

    Time to take a break.

Back in September, I traded my Ford for a Toyota Tundra. The newer trucks are a whole lot more finicky. The Toyota has been in the shop over a week. They can’t figure out what’s wrong. The newer vehicles are too complicated for even the mechanics! I sorta wish I had my Ford back. Great...

    Range Day - 01/24/25

Good shooting, Bella. I don’t have an HK, but I would not be a fan of having brass thrown at me like that even though I don’t have boobs to catch it! :). Looks like a fun outing!

    NRA Board of Directors Election

I agree 76 Board members is way too much. I also believe most of the “reform” folks agree. But, we have to take our organization back first in order to make changes. I am not sure who put the list together. There was a reform movement that started back before the last Board election. It was...

Decent article on shooting and getting older

I refuse to let “geezerhood” in! But, I guess I must have left a door unlocked or cracked somewhere because somehow he got here! :)

    Updating The "Pie Chart" Target

They don’t have the section showing you are old and can’t get your glasses in the right place to focus! That is the one I have!

    Integrity?

I agree with you, Bob. Leave law enforcement to local/state.

    Guns - Level of Importance

Yours is a difficult question. Guns are important to me for hunting, self defense and just fun. Not really a hobby though. Way down the list from God and my family. I am not obsessed with them, but don’t want to do without them.

    Denali or McKinley?

I agree. The administration is squandering resources proposing to rename a bunch of things. That is not what they were elected to do. Almost looks like sabotage from here. I wonder where this effort is really coming from?

    Wayne LaPierre pays 4 million

I agree Bob, especially with your last paragraph.
