    Do hammers really beat strikers?

I’ll take a hammer every time. And I’m not going to worry about “what if” my handgun gets taken following an SD incident. If it protected myself or my loved ones it’s done its job and that’s worth more than the cost of ANY firearm.

Sometimes I wonder why the anti 2A does what it does.

And still subject to the Demoncrats from Chi-town. I left rural Southern Illinois 40 years ago-and have NEVER regretted it. If y’all throw out Cook county and the environs the rest of the state be a pretty nice place to live.

Boeing Wins F/A-XX Next Generation Navy Stealth Fighter Contract (Updated)

Color me skeptical, I’m not real happy having one design. If it has a flaw, your entire fleet of fighters is compromised. Also, while high tech is great, there is much to be said for quantity as well as quality. No matter how cool/high tech a bird can get, sheer numbers matter too. If...

Sometimes I wonder why the anti 2A does what it does.

Heaven forbid the bad guys gets blamed. It has to be his family, the tool he used, anything but the bad actor himself. Simply no common sense. Couple that with the leftist need to disarm the populous so the can take all power, add the useful dupes they employ to help spread their ideas...

    Center point scope

Never heard of them, much less anybody badmouthing them. There are a lot of cheap scopes that are junk, there are some that work pretty well. You pay your $$. and take your chances. I bought a little Savage .17 HMR used a few years ago. It had a BSA sweet 17 scope. Thought, “well that’s...

Discussion: Winter Emergency Car Kit - Are You Ready?

Being out on the road is an area of preparedness a lot of people neglect. You see folks in cold weather going out without a coat because they’re in a car and it has a heater. Stupid. A breakdown and you’re in trouble in short order. Have appropriate items with you and it’s an...

    Officers Down in America

I am saddened to report that Kentucky State Trooper Hayden Phillips was shot and killed this afternoon while patrolling on I-65 around mile 38 (just a few miles from my home). No details as yet. May the LEO’s quickly catch the animal responsible and put him down like the rabid dog he is.

Discussion: Winter Emergency Car Kit - Are You Ready?

Hence the reason for the 100 hour candle and the space blankets. A candle in a coffee can makes a fair heater. Won’t run you out but ya won’t freeze. Years ago a friend (firefighter) was stuck in a blizzard on a closed interstate for almost 20 hours. Candle in a coffee can was his heat...

    Daffy Zone…..

Worked as a safety engineer for decades-my associate always loved pointing out stupid warnings as evidence of the idiocy of man. As Mike used to say “Remember, those warnings are there because Someone actually DID that sh-t”!

Discussion: Winter Emergency Car Kit - Are You Ready?

We have lived in the frozen north, the Deep South and now in the middle. For decades we have carried a basic survival kit in all our vehicles-ALL the time. Our kits are all the same, 2 space blankets, 100 hour candle 2 metal cups, one small pot with lid, waterproof matches, water...

Discussion: F-105 Thunderchief: The Mighty Thud

The air war in North Vietnam is perhaps THE classic example of mismanagement by letting politicians make military decisions. I firmly believe the politicians job is merely to give the military a mission, say “do it and if you need anything let us know” and then let the professional handle the...

Discussion: Bridget Stalked on the Trail

I’ve spent a LOT of time in the sticks alone over the decades, mostly bow hunting. Never worried too much, BUT I watched what I was doing, and always had some basic survival gear with me-enough so that if I was forced to spen a night (or 2) in the field I could have easily done so. That said...

Holy cow .. 1985 Vest Demo

I agree with the earlier comment. Actually shooting someone just to prove a vested interest works seem a bit off the rails. Stuff it with phone books or Sears catalogs.. it either penetrates the vest…or it doesn’t.

What’s a firearm everyone seems to love that just didn’t work for you?

Why? Too many other equally reliable options to continue throwing $$ at “perfection”🙄 I’d use and not hesitate if it shot for me. You’re unlikely to wear it out unless you are a Serious competition shooter.
