Beaverhead mountains in Idaho. Only about 10 miles to the Montana border as the crow flies. This year has been slim pickings for most hunters. I was in the right spot at the right time.

I wish ours did. It's been too warm, and I didn't hit wet snow until around 8K feet elevation. Plus, the bucks get really stupid during the rut which starts just as our season ends. Mine was though...had the huge swollen neck.

Springfield makes great weapons. My buddy bought the MILSPEC blued version a long time ago that had the "US" on the wood grips and still shoots it. It was a little over $400 new then.
