First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

Hopefully you read this whole thread. Lots of info on what people have done. I completely had my Prodigy re-worked. I have close to 3500 rounds. It’s been flawless. Others haven’t done anything and they’ve also been very reliable.

Easy, apply a tiny bit of Vaseline to the lens before you start your range day. After you’re done for the day, wipe the Vaseline off. The powder comes right off.

11 Top Holsters for Your 1911 DS Prodigy

No idea. I even emailed them and let them know the design flaw and all the pictures I posted here. They sent back a generic response saying that they had several spec op guys and others that helped develop the holster. I told them it was wrong and that the holster needs a re-design. I will find...

The status is they are garbage and for a 100 bucks more you can get a 507. Do not waste your time and money on the Hex.

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

No disrespect to anyone, but I believe this thread is for the Prodigy. Maybe we can get back on track. I know that’s why I am following it. But the last 2 pages have been about Sig and Canik. Might need to unsubscribe.

Springfield has always had the LCI. I seriously doubt they will ever change this design. Like you the build up on my RMR was ridiculous. I hated it, I am glad I found DSC to offer this service.

Springfield Prodigy Torture Test: Did It Survive 10K Rounds?

Good post, I am a Prodigy owner. Ive got over 3500 rounds through mine and I put over $650 to make it run flawless. I see what you are saying. And I am also a police officer and have been for over 20 years. Firearms instructor, SWAT member and EVOC instructor. I don't carry a 2011, but if I...

The adapter plate is just really tight. As it should be, I had to tap my plate in with a rubber mallet. It went in just fine. You can file it down a little bit if need be. I found the screw and the local Fastenal bolt and screw place and Ace Hardware. Also you can file them down. I opted not...

Agreed, good point. I can 100% say after Skips Gunz did the work on my prodigy it is butter smooth zero disconnect dragging issues and a trigger pull of 3.5 pounds. It’s smoother and flatter shooting than my C2.

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

I bought mine back in November, I immediately noticed a disconnector issue. Went out and shot it and it was ok. I already have a C2, but wanted to try another manufacturer. I got in touch with a guy I was referred to from Skips Guns. Sent him the Prodigy and had him do a bunch of work. Replaced...

    Red Dot for the 1911DS

RMR is by far the best red dot on the market. That’s been clearly established for years. When we were testing red dots for our duty guns, we tested delta point, holosun, acro, and trijicon. Only ones that didn’t fail at some point were the acro and the trijicon. Delta point, and holosun held...

I have no doubt the prodigy will be smoother then my C2. I have the same feeling, the C2 is very clunky and I didn't feel it was any smoother then a stock prodigy. Only thing different was the stupid disconnect issues the prodigy has that the Staccato doesn't.

Yes by about 500-600. Like I said before, I just wanted to try something different. I am sure I will get some flak for putting money into it, but oh well...lol.

Yep, I already have a Staccato C2 so speding the money on something other than the C2 was fine with me. I wanted to try something new.. I paid 1100 for my Prodigy brand new.

First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

I just had Skipsguns complete the following. Let's hope it runs better. Mine is a 4.25". I should be getting it this week, I will post some pics when it is here and a range report. A Better Prodigy – $465 SkipsGuns has tuned multiple Springfield Armory Prodigy’s and found the path to...
