It looks like Bushmaster and DPMS are done for.

Remington says the want to "focus" on their outdoor brands, colt wanted to "focus" on their contract sales, Vista wanted to "focus" on their non-firearm brands when they sold off savage, AOBC is spinning off Smith and Wesson for the same reasons. Read the PRs, they all say the same thing. The...

    Girlfriend's gun — suggestions?

I don't totally agree with the "let her pick" advice. I understand the thought but there is a counterintuitive concept that's important for her to know before she picks. A lot of women, men too, pick a small gun because they find it less intimidating but a small gun can be harder to handle from...

    Cross-dominance, help

I've been noticing that my sight picture is drifting. I used to be strongly right eye dominate but i'm noticing more and more that i'm picking up the left side of the sight when i present. I'm having to tape up my left lens sometimes when i shoot now. Any ideas of exercises or things i can do to...

    Your avatar story?

my speedo was always falling down under the sheer weight of my manhood. Enter, the Mankini. Now the same broad shoulders I use to bear the responsability of family and work can carry the enormous burden that typical bathing attire isn't cut out to handle. Not to mention the convenient...

    SHTF Scenario Definition

I forget how much tougher this gets in an urban setting or neighborhood. I'm out in the sticks, on a well with a BU generator. A lot of my "prep" is just normal life since i'm further away from public utilities we had to have these things as a necessity more than emergency planning.

    SHTF Scenario Definition

good question and a decision to be prepared for. Those of us who have some self reliance would certainly be in a moral predicament when SHTF. My family takes no.1 priority and if i think i have resources to share i'd definitley try to help where i could.

    SHTF Scenario Definition

I'm not a prepped as I'd like to be but i think SHTF is more about a short term regional disruption to distribution of food, electricity, etc. I don't think the nuclear fallout scenario is all that likely but I feel you can do a lot with a couple weeks worth of food and power. I store water...

    Giving the 10MM a Chance

I'm all in on 10 MM. It's crazy how much that round died due to poor shooting and bad craftsmanship. Cracking wrists and frames is a thing of the past. I really want to see some kind of 10mm sub gun soon. i think that'd be the cats meow.

There's a 10 round mag coming. Talked to SA about it a couple of weeks ago. They will have it out soon. not sure how long it will take to get "approved" but it's coming.

    Negligent Discharge

I've witnessed a few and had one. Watched a friend shoot a round between his feet in the passenger seat of a car about 15 years ago. He was handed an unloaded pistol with a loaded mag in it, racked the slide to "test the trigger" and shot through the floor boards. That was dumb. I had my one...

    Are you flinching

If you know it's not going to recoil you won't flinch. Dry fire practive helps a little but your brain knows it's not going to go off. The surprise empty chambers or dummy rounds are great for showing the problem but not so great for correcting it. Leatham says you'll never stop your body from...

    Are you flinching

most people flinch and compensate for it. I flinch a lot and am working to correct with dry fire practice and focusing on the trigger wall and pulling through it.

.22 for concealed carry, are you kidding me?

That is not an EDC's job. An EDC isn't supposed to scare people off. That logic is fundamentally flawed and can get you in big trouble. It's natural to think presenting a gun will be enough but it's unlawful and it's not taught well enough. Brandishing a firearm is felony. You are not...

.22 for concealed carry, are you kidding me?

Sure but knives have killed a lot of people too. I'm not saying they can't be leathal. i'm saying .22 LR is a poor choice for EDC. There are numerous options if you want a small, light gun that's easier to rack in calibers that don't have the downsides of a .22 LR. those short barreled .22LR...
