I had a Benelli M2 for HD and it was a great shotgun. Alas, my son wanted it for my grandaughter. I think after all this time that semi-autos have been around quality shotguns, like the M2 are very reliable. I don't believe racking a slide scares off would be intruders, just expose your position.
