    Review: Springfield Hellcat .380 ACP

As a very old guy who used to have been involved in far too many serious social situations, I'm a firm believer in stopping power. I have been in the middle of four situations where the perps were using short barrel .38 specials that did a lot of damage, but failed to stop the law enforcement...

    Review: Springfield Hellcat .380 ACP

From Recoil Magazine: "Dimensionally, the Hellcat in .380 ACP is exactly the same as the Hellcat in 9mm. If you can conceal a 9mm Hellcat, you can conceal a .380 ACP Hellcat."

What is the difference in size and weight? I can't seem to find that even on SA's website.

o_O If the guns are the same size and weight, I'm at a loss as to what the point is?

Show off your Every Day Carry!

I'm not sure. I wear a watch every day so it would make sense to display it as part of every day carry, but I rarely include it in a picture. I think some people feel that wearing a Rolex or Omega or even a Seiko diver's watch brands them as some kind of "operator".

Show off your Every Day Carry!

As an additional note, the knucks in the picture were my grandfather's from when he was a Deputy U.S. Marshal. He gifted them to me when I took up the badge. I know quite a few, including one female, badged officers that still carry and utilize them on a regular basis, despite regulations. o_O

Show off your Every Day Carry!

Where did you get the blade length on a state-wide scale from? I'm very aware of Chicago and a couple of local ordinances but not in state law. While brass knuckles are prohibited as a carry weapon under Illinois law, enforcement varies wildly based on the "blueness" or "redness" of the area. In...

Show off your Every Day Carry!

For some reason, I left out several things when I took this photo. I failed to include my money clip and my card case, as well as my phone and keys and notebook and pen.

Straight Talk About Reloading In Gunfights

    >The critics urged my friend to reload with the gun up in his face, so he could “watch the bad guys.” Maybe that works for them with their autopistols, but it’s not a good idea with a revolver.< Trying to create tactics for gunfights is always a problem if generalities are part of the training...

The headlines seek to promise a lot more than the article delivered. I looked forward to it and now that I've read it, it was a waste of time.

    Daffy Zone…..

Ouch. I once came home from a business trip to discover my BMW Z-8 had "disappeared" from the garage. Circumstances were similar.

    Who Carries Old Guns?

I thought you were suppose to strop them sharp - not throw the razor away. I've been using the same razor I was given at age 13 and sharpen it as needed. It also has other uses  TSA wants them in checked luggage however.

    Gun and Knife carry

On pavement daily carry: This does not include car fob, ID and credit card case, nor money clip, or watch which could be a Submariner or a Seiko PADI solar. Knife could change given the schedule of the day. One of these might substitute:

Massad Ayoob on 3am knock on the door

Unless they were actually breaking it down, I might not even hear it. If they can force the door, the dive claxton would wake me while they are trying to deal with the intense fog being generated.

Show off your Every Day Carry!

Weight: even the smaller Officer styles (which I have extensive experience with) are heavier than my aging body likes but I do carry several pistols so the weight problem is cumulative. I was an early adapter of the XDs and mine was part of a media kit that I bought off the original T&E...

Show off your Every Day Carry!

First, my sympathies. Years ago I carried a Colt Commander LW on the job and undercover. It wasn't impossible in cooler weather but it became difficult in warm or hot weather. Have you tried the heavy duty T shirts with the reinforced holster under the armpit while wearing a Nate Nast type of...
