00463 Blackhawk Initial Testing

Took the newly acquired Ruger 45 out for a spin this afternoon. Testing for initial accuracy impressions from 20 yards using a support/bench.

Used a 200gr XTP JHP (that's the heaviest I have on hand for now), and data from my Speer loading manual, I got the best grouping with 8.9 grns of Universal using the Long Colt brass though I know I didn't follow through on the top end loads I had developed. May need to do those again!

Ended the session with the my pet load (.45 ACP SWC Missouri boolits)... I'm happy

I usually run 185 and 230gr bullets in a 45acp, but possibly going with 200gr v-crowns for best energy.
