10 Most Underrated Handguns [Guide]

I'll agree with his choice #7, the S&W 5906. I had the opportunity to build one up out of junk parts a decade or so ago and I've still never found another 9mm I like better (except maybe the P35). The DA is amazingly smooth and light--better than some of my revolvers. Sometimes I wish it were lighter, but there's the 5904 for that. I should try to track one down sometime.

31 years ago the 5906 was my first duty weapon until I got my hands on a Glock. I regrettably sold it to a retired deputy sheriff who has since passed away. Wish I knew some of his family and perhaps if they still have it I can reclaim it. That's the only gun I ever had that I wish I never sold.

I agree with pretty much all the choices except the Ruger P-series. They were just…eccch. Lousy triggers, and all the aesthetics of a high point crossed with a Lorcin.

Never owned one, never will.

Love my 5906’s, though. The RamLine 17rd mags rock in them.

You think the HK is under rated? I mean it's a great gun, but it gets a lot of love from just about everyone.
