Always great to read about another great gun offered by Springfield Armory however that being said the author left me slightly; well, Hmmmm
Referring to Americans celebrated individualism as deplorable had me thinking, “what” and his description of the guns action as “warm snot on glass”

You’re being [almost] over generous, Key… this silly article claims “review” in the title but says next to nothing about the Garrison 9mm.

The exterior of each of those is my idea of a nice 1911. No front grasping grooves and no underlug. The rear sight could have the flat cocking shape that is getting popular, but that is nit picking. One last thing, 1911's should be in .45 or .38 Super. YMMV

How easy would it be to add a Vortex red dot site to the Garrison 9mm?

Depends on how you want to do it.
If you want easy, but no co-witness, you could just replace the rear sight with a rail. It’ll make the red dot sit pretty tall, though.
Otherwise, you’ll have to have the slide milled, and probably refinished. It’ll run you a couple hundred bucks.

Thanks, Hans, I would go with having the slide milled. I will check locally to see who can work on this for me. I would like to buy it set up and ready to go.

Yes, size and weight are nice. I've been tempted to buy one, but holding-out. Personally, I prefer the 1911 format.
I have a Springfield 3 inch 1911 '45 in stainless - great little gun. I wish they'ed make the same pistol in 9mm.
I don't buy no ugly guns, that's why I don't own a Garrison 9mm.

Ooops, I'm seeing various photos of different Garrison 9mm. Some appear as typical 1911, others not so much.
