165 Grain 40 S&W Is It Dead?

The 40 isn’t dead, and the 165 is around just most places seem to stick the 180.
A department I use to work for in the early 99’s went to 40 cal after I left and went with the Winchester 155 Silvertip (this was before the bonded and HST stuff) they had 3 shootings right off the bay wit it and dumps the felons dead.
If I had a 40 I would have no reservations about running 155-165 or 180 in it.

I use 165's in 10mm and 155's in 40s&w. Except fir 155xtp I shoot in both. The gdhp's is where i separate them

10MM is snappy. Little more expensive but worth it.
Back in the day, I was training with a group of federal probation officers at Sig Sauer. They were required to use 40 cal and weren't too happy about it, although I don't think they complained to their bosses.
The complaint was about recoil.
As a side story: A very good looking agent got slide-bit and dang if I didn't have a first aid kit in my range bag! She appreciated my gentlemanly wound care. As they say in the Boy Scouts, "Be Prepared!"

Similar to Amazon Prime, you can sign-up for an annual plan that reduces your cost on most ammunition. I used my plan to order a 1,000 round case of 230 grain .45 ACP at a reduced price. I'm a senior and almost ended up in the hospital lifting it off the floor!

165 HST for me . Most FMJ is 180 .

Honestly there’s a shop not far away from the range I go to that I do order from more now. No shipping charges and it gets picked up when i go out there.
