Not bad.

I like the “syringe” technique (think that’s the “Surefire” technique referenced) if I just have a handheld.

I’d recommend that people take a lowlight class if at all possible...because for a lot of folks, it’s difficult to practice it under “real”—that is, dark—conditions, with live ammo. This is very much a skill set where the phrase “you don’t know what you don’t know” is applicable...my first class dispelled a lot of bad information I’d picked up here and there...my second taught me that I prefer a weaponlight AND a handheld—one for search, the other destroy.
