1903A3 Bolt?

I have a never issued 1903A3. I would like to make it a 1903A4 clone. My question is will my bolt clear the scope? I have seen others with a modified bent bolt on them. If I need this modified bolt, where do I purchase? Thanks for the help.

Why would you screw up a never issued A3 for a look alike A4 that will never have the value your issued A3 has today? Besides an A4 has a turned down bolt handle made to clear the scope. There were some companies that sold reproductions back in the day. Might try SARCO to see if they have A3 receivers and barrels. They might even have a bolt as well.

Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking the same thing. My club shoots vintage sniper rifle at 600 yards kind of hard to compete with iron sites. Although who cares as long as we can shoot and have some fun. I'm 84 and still shoot all I can.

I believe SARCO has some rebuilt/refinished A3s which would be a less expensive option than modifying an existing rifle that’s got collector value.
