This is as good an article as I have seen about 1911 magazines and the differences in feed lips.

Left: USGI-style fully-tapered feed lips.
Center: Colt-style hybrid feed lips.
Right: Parallel early-release "wadcutter" feed lips.

cool
i have have never had good luck with wad cutters in any of my 45s.
mainly because of OAL of built up round, its to short compared to the 230 grain round nose.
although the barry 180 grain hollow base works very well , as its built up length matches the 230 grain
different magazines i can see could make a difference

Mine are all Larry Vickers from Wilson. So far they have been 100% ball, HP and semi wad cutters lead and copper jacketed. I used Chip McCormick power mags from the early to mid 90's. They worked very well until they started feeding downward in the mag. it didn't matter whether it was ball or HP. My thoughts were the spring lost its spring enough to cause the jamming. It happened on the first round or any round between 1 and 8, it was an equal opportunity jammer 😉

I chose to buy new mags.
