I don't think so.Can I get a Prodigy in a 45 APC I'm new I'm sure that question as been asked I'm a 45 guy and a master uspa shooter and 76 years old can't run fast but still can shoot! don
Aren’t we all?Thanks just looking for something I don't have))loveya
Never know. Look how long the Shield Plus has been out and S&W hasn't seen fit to put one out in .45 ACP.I think it’s only a matter of time before SA releases a Prodigy in 45. For now, no.
9mm was an easy in for the double stack 1911 crowd.
My best guess…you’ll see a .45 variant next, possibly even the 10mm. Just my guess.

TrueTrue.
But one could argue the Shield plus doesn’t have 100 year plus roots that started out as a .45 ACP…
From what I understand, the 2011 platform is really optimized for 9mm. Doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen, but I suspect SA will want to get the Prodigy rock solid before introducing another variant.I think it’s only a matter of time before SA releases a Prodigy in 45. For now, no.

True that. Not that they’re not out there, but… I don’t see any high end or other gun makers with a .45ACP double stack offering. From what I understand, the 2011 platform is really optimized for 9mm. As others have said the Prodigy is 9MM only. 45ACP double stack pistols are a rarity as 9mm is the most popular handgun caliber today. I'm certain that SA will eventually expand on their Prodigy line, so who knows what the future offerings may be.Can I get a Prodigy in a 45 APC I'm new I'm sure that question as been asked I'm a 45 guy and a master uspa shooter and 76 years old can't run fast but still can shoot! don
SA used to make a widebody 1911 in .45.Rob Leatham gave an interview not long after the Prodigy was launched & stated it would be coming in 45acp & 10mm. He commented that the magazine tubes were designed to fit the larger rounds. As far as other manufacturers making 45acp 2011s, you have Triarc, Infinity, Cosaint, EAA & a few others.
I would be all over a Prodigy in 45acp! Threaded barrel would be a bonus! Come on Springfield, bring it to market!
I had a couple of Paras & a Wilson Combat based on a Para frame. SA used the Para frame back in the day on their old widebody. Les Baer & a couple of other also made limited models using those frames. Rock Island uses the Para design. Sometimes I do like the weight of all steel design, but ever since I got my first STI, I let the others go.SA used to make a widebody 1911 in .45.
Rock Island Armory still does, and runs great, as well.
Yeah, I’m in the process of moving my custom P14.45 Limited…great pistol, but I’m moving away from .45.I had a couple of Paras & a Wilson Combat based on a Para frame.
