I never ever had any of my semis jam, but I am old school and run all my semis wet despite what the manuals say.Neighbor had a Ruger 1911 that would constantly jam. Needed to be SOAKED with oil to work properly.
I use only large primers for 45, never thought of using small primers. The bigger the bang the better in my view. My loads are middle range on the recommended powder load from the Speer manual. I also de-cap and re-size my brass in a seperate single stage press before putting it into the tumbler for cleaning. That helps with consistency and gives me a chance to examine each piece carefully. 45acp is kind of fussy about overall length and bullet seating. Once I get my Dillon 650 tuned just right I will run off several thousand rounds with the same settings. My reloads have become very reliable, but all things considered I prefer shooting factory loads when the price is reasonable. Recently I have been stacking up factory ammo. Good luck with your TRP, it is a fine defensive handgun and one you can be proud of.Maybe off topic, but the range brass is pick up is both small and large primer.
If I have plenty of each, should I focus on only using large or doesn't it matter?
Could small primers contribute to a cycling or malfunction issue?
Thanks!
