Can you say pillory? Thank God for them we don't live in earlier times. I'm not opposed to bringing it back especially for teachers who are sexually abusing our kids.
Actually, if you watch the reruns of Adam 12, the dispatcher assigns a call about an assault with knives and chains. In the early 70s, a lot of the inter gang shootings were with sawed-off .22s and shotguns. This was before the drug trade began…fights were turf wars. Soon as the $$$ began rolling in, the weaponry became better and more lethal. As an example, small gang fight in my area. One gangster, Jaime, gets knocked down behind the other gang’s Low rider, a 64 Chevy. Someone yells the cops are coming and everyone scatters, except Jaime. The Chevy is started and backs out of the driveway…except there lies Jaime, which they can’t see. They ran very Jaime, but the Chevy is on lowrider position. They rev the engine but all they accomplish is grinding Jaime’s face to pulp. They realize they were getting nowhere, so run off, leaving us to arrive at a homicide scene. Really messy!
